I have multiple, long term partners and multiple shorter term partners. I'm ok with being affectionate with all of them and referring to them as my lovers. |

I see it as more a reference to them showing 'love' to you/a part of you/something 'about you' for a certain amount of time. Regularly, with sex thrown in. With or without strings. However fleeting that time may be, you were 'loved' by them.
There's a vast difference between showing love and being 'in love'.
So yes, in my opinion, 'lover' is a very apt description for people you meet regularly on an intimate level |

For me, there's a difference between nsa fun, fwb and lover
Nsa fun is when I meet to play with someone I've had a social chat meet with, or met at a club
Fwb is what most of my nsa meets become, as that is what I'm here for, more than just one offs but still no commitment
A lover, I've had, when that fwb becomes more than that and a bond grows - Exceptionally rare, but has happened Twice
First time he couldn't handle it, so I cut everything
Second time, we're still best friends and part of each other Life, just without the playing part now, in even best friends with his now wife (who he met while we were together and is reason we stopped playing)

My love knows no boundaries so even if i don't like people i will love them, so yes they would be lovers to me. I get over it when reality and my apathy creeps in.

Some here look for more than no string sex a lover ...... And I can see why it would fuck them up too. As you can love the one your with at the time but if not a two way thing you get hurt feel used as thinking there is more . No string sex is free of getting hurt I find you know where you stand Swinging is not having lovers . Dating is and giving yourself to that one person mind and body and soul its not just sex that's a lover. |
