When we get emails i'll show them to Paul when he gets in,so we can both decide if we want to take things further,so sometimes i can be a day or so later when we reply, maybe could be the same when you email someone?

If their message is totally opposite to their profile we fail to see the point in replying

"Been read", marginally better than "deleted", since there is still a chance of a reply.

Most often we don’t bother replying to one-liners but we don’t delete or block straight away as we might need them for reference if there is more communications from the same person.

If we receive a decent PM it will be answered as soon as possible if we are interested or not. If it’s a very worthy PM then it can take longer to reply as it needs an equally worthy reply which of course needs more time to compose.

If it’s one that does need a decent response but is otherwise not of interest sometimes it can slip through the net because it needs a bit of time but could be at the time low priority and therefore not get a reply at all, which is purely an error on our part however rude it may seem.

But that’s just us, others may do similar, or something different so I would suggest you DO NOT take any notice whatsoever unless it’s a ‘deleted’ and or ‘blocked’ as that I think sends a clear message of ‘not interested EVER’.

Our deletion happens in stages:

1. Email has no photo, first line is txt speak or subject is not our captcha (all of which can be seen without opening it) - instant delete.

2. Email is worth opening and is good - fairly instant reply.

3. Email is worth opening and is not what we want - polite response asap, but usually there and then.

little house on the praire

It could mean they want to reply but are waiting until they have time to send you a decent reply back.

Or it could mean (like me) you have one clear out once in a while mines usually weeklyx

i tend to look at profiles before opening the message.

if its a maybe i wont delete straight away

if its a no and they haven't read my profile then instant deletion

The receiver is not interested, and has not got round to pressing the delete button.

That would be the worst case scenario.

If one is optimistic, then it could imply the receiver is too busy to reply.

If the receiver fails to respond in a couple of days, and has been online since the message was read, then one should consider the receiver as not interested and move on.

I dont always answer every message because I dont always have time to or something about the message doesnt attract me etc etc. We're a bit messy and dont clear out our inbox that regularly.

Guilty of not replying immediately sometimes ... but will reply eventually. But that is just me... us....

I believe for most people a lack of reply within say a day or so means they are not interested?
