And veg too if you're offering.

I could just about manage chips if it helps.

It transpires that the 'small, simple, little job' was a smigin more complicated than I'd allowed for, so now we have no oven, sink or water.

Oh, and no floor if I'm honest.

Oops

True, but man cannot live by wood alone!

Besides the old sink is blocking them!

I'm the only one who likes that - the rest of the family are Philistines!

(Technically Mrs ddc was always too posh for 'leftovers' )

Ok, so here's the plan.

I can get to the deep-fat fryer, the Cadburys Fruit n Nut, the eggs and just maybe the flour.

So if I adapt my mother's Deep-fried Mars bar recipe, will that count as a well-balanced meal? It has fruit AND nuts don't forget...

Have you got a slow cooker? If not now could be the time.

But for tea tonight I think Mrs DDC would appreciate dinner out. Anywhere

Just trying to guilt-trip the children with "But you realise it's'Mother's' day, not 'Wife' day, don't you?"

But the pooling of the pocket money, even with the bit of string and some fluff isn't looking promising.

It may be time to nuke that 1947 can of meatballs afterall...

Sensible? With my reputation?

Panic over. It's amazing what a man can achieve when the only alternative involves opening his wallet
