not so Littlehampton

And there was me thinking it was a dig at the mothers that walk out on their children and it is left to the father to play both roles.

Probably even more apt for fathers day though.

What pisses me off is my kids always make cards and stuff at school for Mother's Day which is lovely but Father's Day doesn't get acknowledged. Their answer is that some kids don't have dads, well some poor kids don't have mums either but they have to sit and watch all the other kids making cards.

thats sad to read.. the nursery and school are aware of each childs home life and make it appropriate for each child. ive had a fathers day card addressed to me before. prompted a few emotional questions but its good to talk

I had this with my son he is 25 now, he had to sit and watch others make fathers day cards, i encouraged him to make a grandad card ( no contact with his dad) mums and dads maybe could encourage the kids to make them at home, for those who have no contact or bad terms it is hard.

Another alternative view: Some people use an excuse at valentines day that they treat their partner like a princess all year round, so why should they give in to commercialism for valentines day?

I'm wondering why I've never heard that kind of excuse at mothers day?

Mother = Queen
