Go to try this.
I bought some of Tesco's fancy bread cheap last week, chilli, Mediterranean and olive to be precise for 9p each, but been out not used them. Hate to waste anything.
They were a bit dry so decide to make them into a bread pudding, soaked them in almond milk, substituted dried fruit for chopped onion and grated carrot. Added a few chilli flakes, two beaten eggs, melted butter and baked for 1 and a half hours.

That type of Bread with dried Fruit as you put it is called Bread Pudding, I wouldn't try a Cup of tea with no Tea in it because it isn't Tea

OP: Bearing in mind your location, Gloucester Pie is basically a savoury bread and butter pudding made with cheese and tomato sandwiches.
And I think somewhere has one with ham and leek too.
As for the pudding one, our daughter isn't keen on sultanas, so we do many variations, including one with chocolate spread and glacé cherries

Oh, and just to clarify, by 'bread pudding' I presume you soft southerners are talking about 'bread and butter pudding'. Bread pudding is a totally separate entity (both use dried fruit though) and you'll only get the Yorkshire crowd started if you muddle them up.

No standard bread pudding, solid but moist in the middle.

I didn't unwrap it, it just went hard, would bother me if it had gone mouldy just cut it off and carry on. |
