My focus 1.6 TDCI has a warning light on, it has a red cog with exclamation mark in the centre of it, and the car has no power when the light is on, this came on once before when my DPF was clogged up, I just assumed it was the same problem, so spent £250 on a new DPF and the light has not gone off  I have removed the EGR and cleaned it out still no luck, it might stay of for a few hundred yards when I first go out but then it is on again, I have run out of ideas as to what the problem is,
funny thing is the car is not showing any fault codes when I scan it, any suggestions, I want to get it fixed and sold, no more diesel cars for me. |

Split intercooler hose prob on the inside of a bend pretty common on ford tdci and hard to spot being on the inside out of sight  |

Have you simply bolted a new dpf? If so this will not work untill the car has had a dpf regen - you need to tell the car it's had a new dpf then it revs the engine automactily in a set sequence. Untill you've done this a new dpf will be no different to your old one k x |

been reading up online and a few people have said the glow plug could be the problem, and I just watched a video on how to test them with a Multimeter, so I will try that tomorrow.

If the car has no power or limp mode it won't (or shouldn't) be the glow plugs, they're only used to help start the car on cold days.
If you've previously had EGR problems I'd suggest you give your MAP sensor (otherwise known as the turbo sensor) a clean. It could be covered in crap and causing an overboost reading. They're usually easy to find and remove.
Also worth checking the VNT/VGT solenoid and pipes for damage and the turbo for sticky vanes. |
