7 payments of £10 each to the same company that I've never heard of have been taken from my bank account over the past few days, from online transactions.
I don't think I've ever been so upset or angry in my life. On Tuesday I had £40 left in my account, I was saving it for lunch with my friend that I haven't seen for a month. I went to check it on Thursday and the whole £40 had disappeared. I was actually 42p overdrawn. So my dad kindly lent me £40 so I could go out to lunch and buy a couple of bits. But lunch was cancelled. So I checked again this morning, and another £30 of it has gone! Same fucking company. Same amount per transaction.
I've informed the bank but they said there's nothing they can do until its on my bank statement rather than my 'pending transactions'. The first £40 has gone through so fuck this shit, I'm gonna have to hobble up to the bank today and sort this shit out!
Sorry for the rant |

Don't worry, your bank will sort it. It sucks but it'll happen to most of us at some point! I have the opposite problem with my bank, they're forever declining things & phoning me about 'suspected fraud'! It's good that they're vigilant but it's obviously me spending £30 in primark & not an international drug cartel. |

I have had this, a company clearing out my account, setting up a direct debit without my authorisation.
My bank were very good and returned the money to my bank that same day.
The only times i had problems was on fridays, i had to wait until the Monday so they could see properly on the system.

I had this happen to me once, I now have a prepaid credit card to use for internet purchases... I only ever put money on it when I am buying something off eBay or Amazon.
I would advise others to do the same.![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

I have to go into the branch to change my address to a correspondence address because I've got no fixed address at the moment and it's still registered at my ex's place. I can see this being really long winded. |

Don't be sorry, that's terrible.
Make sure you have the banks comments either on paper/email, or that you recorded the date time and preferably the name of who you spoke to on the phone. You'll need that when they try to say you didn't do enough to inform them about what was going on. |

That's terrible OP, but don't stress too much. The bank will sort it, and don't forget to ask them to refund any interest and charges at the same time.
Most of these firms hope they will find someone too embarrassed to complain about an 'adult entertainment' cost, but in reality the banks are wise to it.
What I find shocking is how little they seem to care. A few years ago someone tried putting two Wonga loans on a credit card I only ever use for two companies, so I knew exactly who had committed the fraud. But they simply refunded the money and closed the issue.
Good luck

"Lmao xD
It's Ace Gifts & Cards.. So not even an adult entertainment thing..! "
Have you ever used them?
As well as going in to the bank take a letter in so that they have your complaints in writing. Make it clear you expect them to refund all fees too as you are now being charged overdraft fees.
Good luck. |

Not a nice thing to happen! I hope it gets sorted quickly. With going into the bank, they should get it sorted or at least for the moment put a stop on your account.
I had a similar thing happen with a credit card. 2x £200 bets placed at a bookies in London. Never have bet and 70 miles from London. It was all sorted.
In a similar note to a previous poster, a friend of mine had his amazon prime account compromised. Films etc, that he hadn't watched or ordered added to his bill. Not sure what happened there, will have to find out.
Another reason to check statements etc, carefully! |

if the payments are via Direct Debit , then your instantly covered by the direct debit guarantee , as for bank saying you have to wait for statements that's rubbish , if it shows on your account they need to spring into action now .

Recurring 10 pound sums is quite a common type of fraud, they hope the small amounts don't get detected quickly and they usually go for stuff like phone top ups that they can sell on.
Detail all the transactions you've not made and tell the bank, fraudulent money withdrawals get refunded to you. But it can take a couple of weeks.
Be careful who gets their hands on your card, never let it leave your sight, even in restaurants and stuff, and watch witch company's you use it online for![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

You can also ask them to reimburse you for the cost of getting in, parking etc
They should offer an amount as a gesture of goodwill too - especially as you have been distressed by this

Banks are tending not to be as accommodating of disputed transactions as they were. There was a case involving Santander where ten grand was nicked from a woman's account over a period of time. The bank dragged it's heels claiming the woman's fiance had stolen it. Eventually it was found to be a bank employee
If they play hardball - and hopefully they won't as the transactions are small (in bank terms) and traceable - threaten them with The Banking Ombudsman |

You have to watch these free trials, remember to cancel them before the end date, otherwise they assume you want them.
Expedian got my nephew, they took nearly £300 off him and he was so embarrassed about being duped or to be precise didn't read the terms he wouldn't do anything bout it, His dad was exasperated with him.
He agreed to let me do after subtly pretended I'd done the same thing, without letting on I knew something. I got his money back. |

Sorry, but no they don't. They're not saying you have to wait for statements, just until the payment shows on your online banking/mini statement, because it's only been authorised & hasn't actually left the account yet. They can't claim it back if it hasn't actually debited yet. Spot the former bank employee :p
You will get it back no bother though, as well as any fees or anything. No need to go in guns blazing as some people are suggesting. |

Thank you all for your advice. The first £40 has been given back to me. And the £30 has to wait until next week. My card has been cancelled and they're going to send me a new one. Fuck knows how much the phone call cost me though! |

I'm so sorry to hear this. It happened to me once and I was really pissed off. Glad the Bank cancelled your card and sending new one. Make sure you go through your statements and keep a watchful eye. Also take extra care when you use your card. Take care.
I'm dealing with someone tried to access my Credit File. Well lengthy process to deal with ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

My bank gave me a £5 credit to cover the calls when my credit card was cloned just before Christmas. You can but ask.
