Anybody had one?

Beats making one from scratch and saves a hell of a lot of time.

Pan to plate in 2 mins. Just add your own rice.

Don't knock it til you try it, people.

Nothing wrong with the standard of meat.

As if you can be sure what goes into a takeaway curry!

ideal for camping, just don't buy any of the "economy" ones...! As for chili, the Stagg brand is properly nice and fiery too

I love my meat and eating a cat, dog or horse wouldn't bother me as long as it was prepared properly and tasted good.

It's a dead animal, makes no difference to me that it was cute or its species are pets when alive.

Had a jar of curry a couple of months ago, well known brand too.....never again....it was just bland tasteless goop....found more flavour in the rice on its own...

I'll stick to making my own, it's easy enough.

Top 3 pikey dinners from a tin:

1) Fray Bentos steak & kidney pie (avoid the mince beef one it's got peas in it)

2) Goblin hamburgers in gravy

3) Princes hot chicken curry

Sounds almost as bad as a tinned full breakfast. Grim.

On the other hand, its good to have such a wide range of tinned meals so we are all well equipped for the impending zombie apocalypse.

Add haggis in a tin to that list. No amount of soaking in whisky can save it.

Oh god I loved tesco chicken curry in a tin, was one of my favourite meals when I was with my ex. Real chips (meaning cut up potato and fried) with the tesco medium chicken curry. Lush!

I also love hp breakfasts in a tin though! Even eat princes chilli in a tin, take it to work and have it over a jacket potato!

Curry needs to be respected and done properly.

Tinned curry is an abomination.

Tinned food is normally much more nutritious and better quality than ready meals, it just has a poor reputation because.....it is in a tin and the packaging isn't as exciting as the ready meals.

For me though I like to make my own from scratch, I know what is in it, can be spiced to my liking and I always find it is fresher and lighter than either ready made or takeaway as I use a lot less fat.

According to an article I read last year a food agency of some kind tested all the Indian restaurants in an English city to check the mear in their lamb curries. I think only 40% was found to be lamb, some meat was unidentifiable

I've had lamb curries from takeaways and it definitely didn't taste like lamb

Tinned lamb curry though...

Hello Laptop Romeo,

"Anybody had one?

Proper rice takes 25 minutes to cook at least, but a decent curry takes longer. What's the hurry, what are you going to do with the time you save?

There is nothing better than freshly made food from basic ingredients. No accountants to skimp on what's used in the creation.

Alec
