What do you mean by inactive?
Not been online for 3 months or more? Just stop the search when you get to those profiles.
Not verified after a certain period? Turn on the non verified filter?
If the accounts bother you that much ignore them. There are many reasons why people don't come online for a period. Let them be. |

I had a message from a guy I know very very well who hadn't been on line for 9 months. He had a lot going on in the real world, why should he delete his account and lose his veris. ? I'm bloody glad he is back |

Some members of the forces are only able to access their accounts when in the UK. Should serving forces be penalised and expected to close and reopen accounts and get veried all over again because of their career choice? |

"Do other active account members think that there are far to many accounts on the site that are not used? Perhaps it is time to remove those....thus cutting out the deadwood.
What do you think??"
Oh dear guys , you will upset just about all the regular forum users with this post .
We do see what you are saying , and agree that there is a heck of a lot of dead wood on fab which include those who have no intention of meeting , those who have not met for over a year , those just here for the banter etc, etc...... But , perhaps that's because we are very much like yourselves insomuch as we see the site as a perfect place to meet and play with like minded folk . Not a social, media site .
There are so many people on fab who seem happy to just chat , and not meet , and as the thread grows you will see that we are very much the minority on the forums .
The interesting thing is that we have only met a handful of folk from the forums , and having been on and off fab for 3 years that tells its own story . Over 400 meets and 4 through the forums !
The forums are only used by a very small percentage of fab users , so don't be too put off by differences of opinion

Some people may not want to swing every day, week, month or even year, they may just feel its their choice how often they meet and it may be that they only get the urge now and then.. it matters no to anyone else. Also soldiers those working abroad ect..
Everyone uses the site to suit themselves and that is their choice. Personally I would rather admin spend their time helping get rid of fakes, timewasters and pic collectors which I think is probably nigh on impossible lol. |

Why do you always have to make a point that you assume you're going to upset forum users with your opinion? The OP hasn't upset me so no need for you to comment on my behalf
I can't even see what the forums, the people on them,or how they conduct their profiles have to do with the original post about inactive accounts anyway

I get what you're saying.
But the site can be used by anyone for any reason.
It's easy to spot those profiles that are dormant - it clearly states when someone last logged on.
Likewise veris show the date.
So this 'dead wood' isn't causing anyone any problems.
It's one of those 'problems' that doesn't really need fixing.

Not to mention that the more accounts a site has and the more popular it is/appears, the more revenue opportunities and higher rates there are from advertisers. |

The comment I made was ' just about all ' - not all and I certainly didn't mention you did I ?
As far as I know the op is a new poster , and my point was based on the empiric information I have gleaned from similar posts over the years .
So often when someone new posts on the forums , they get slaughtered and never return .
This is a shame as in my opinion it's nice to see a more diverse opinion on here .
I was merely trying to forewarn them , and to let them know they were welcome to put their points across .
If this has upset you , and you feel I spoke for you , I apologise .
As for my assumption that I am going to upset other forum posters with my opinions , I assume I am , but that's also based on my experiences on the forums .
Am I concerned about this ?
Not at all , I used to be , but not any more .

I was active on here last year, took a break for 3 or 4 months but literally on the last few days started dropping back here again. Where do you draw the line?
The more members the merrier on my view ... As others have said - filters are the answer. |
