So there is talk and is odds on to happen, plans to shut Clacton on seas police station, even though it is a HQ station, they plan on building a main police HQ along the A12,So it would mean less police around Walton,Frinton and clacton and surrounding areas. Also there is plans to shut a further 3 HQ stations on the East coast.....

It's ok. All criminals have promised to do less crime as a result of these cuts.

Actually crimes been up around here for quite a while now, especially theft. Someone broke into my shed a couple of weeks ago, didn't nick anything coz there was nothing to nick.

Just what you need in a Friday or Saturday night when it all kicks off, less police in the area.

Have they announced job cuts or just station closures?

Who uses police stations these days? In the time it takes to get there you'd have called them on your mobile.

And it's not always about the number of police on duty, it's the quality of police on duty.

Saying that, a lot of the policing students on our BA course are egotistical knobs and it's quite easy to see why they're joining the police force...

On a power mission, eh; some things will never change!

Hopefully the course will change them a little by the time they're let loose on the general public.

Mind you, they're all Specials already, so it may be too late!

Had a problem one night where I needed a police station and the nearest one had closed the front desk. I dialled 999 and the emergency services couldn't get through to the station on the phone either.

Fortunately an armed response unit saw my plight and stopped for me. They couldn't get through on the radio either but managed to deal with the problem.

It culminated with a woman trying to wrestle an armed machine gun off of a police officer but that is a story for another time.
