Can't use the kitchen sink ATM - there's a dead spider in there. If it was alive I'd save it and we'd be friends, but it's dead and I'm waiting for Neil to come home and save me.

Got any stupid nonsensical phobias?

dead spiders are ok - alive ones tend to get the splat in this house and then the flush just to make sure

At first I thought it was alive so I got some tissue to dry it off, but the legs went into auto curl when the moisture left. Can't look at it, touch it, be near it. Can't even turn the tap on because I'd have to watch it go down the plug. I'm sweating just thinking about it.

Pretty sure, thought an umbrella was a giant tarantula when I was tripping once, I was fine with it. The phone suddenly ringing was another kettle of fish!

Some stupid things to add to my list - stairs (that's a grind) and talking on the phone - last one is pretty common but varying degrees.

I was a phobophobe for 3 Years

Scared of everything

Man or beast

I'm ok now

But spiders and me will never be friends

I'd reach for the bleach myself

No bleach. It's bad enough that it's dead, partially dissolve it with bleach and I'll need a sedative.

I worked in a pub once and the bins got infested with maggots - one bright spark decided to swill the bins out with bleach and attempt to pour it down the drain. That was over ten years ago, and I still have a graphic memory of it.

As to being a phobaphobe, I've been there, where I left the house to go to work, and even that was with a deep dread and palpitations. Unbelievably swinging is getting me out of my shell, finding it easier to fuck strangers than to go out with friends and family, being social is terrifying, getting pounded is fine.

I once got cornered in a garden by 2 particularly large and ferocious slugs. Thankfully I outwitted them in the end!

I spend a big chunk iodmy working day on the phone and I've worked in call centres but I hate using the phone in a non professional capacity. I have no idea the last time I spoke to anyone other than crystal on my mobile

I have a few phobias some are common some not so much....clowns, anyone in a costume where I can't see their face, those living statue people, ants, balloons, heights, the real sea (as opposed to knee deep sea) and my worst by far....it makes my fingers wobble to type it - marshmallows!
