It was back in november sometime when I
found a small clear plastic bag on a shop floor just at the entrance inside
Was some national lottery tickets and Money alongside in notes, whoever had Dropped these winnings which haveing checked after I found these winnings it
Proved to be syndicate money and the receipt was alongside to giveing time
Of receiveing cash from till in shop If Who ever lost this and went straight out the shop after cashing in
Their tickets from the time I found Them it could have been lieing on the
Floor for something like 20 minutes before I find it a miracle in itself No one else seeing it anyway after a change of heart I handed this package
In over the counter to staff working There thou the girl at the counter at The time remembered the woman collecting her winnings and had seen her before on other occasions she had not been back to the shop to see or ask any staff if it had been handed in
or not and this was upto last month in february.. so from all of this what I want to know is do I stand any chance Of makeing any claim on these lost winnings I handed in if the person who Lost them does not return back to the shop to collect or ask, it,ll be around 3 and a half months since I handed it in I,ve not checked up on google I thought I would try here first.. so any info from folks would be good.. |

"I think you're supposed to get something from the shop to prove you handed it in. But to be honest, its probably been claimed. I would have forgotten all about it myself." Well I can only say to that that the girl I handed the winnings over to remembers me well because i have asked her a number of times since if it had been claimed or not and the last time I asked or enquired in feb it was still there what chance do i have to claim if she does not come forward and its still there.

As far as I know (and you're better off asking the local plod) if they haven't claimed it in 6 months its yours. But good luck getting it back from the shop. |

"They're not yours, why would they give them to you?
Finders keepers isn't a valid reason. " I thought I had seen or heard from somewhere if people don,t come forward you can sometimes make a claim or does the shop do that or just waits Indefinately to give the winner there Lost winnings back yes I,m interested to Know because I found them and handed them back in many would,nt. |

You should have handed it into the police, if after a month it's unclaimed and all reasonable steps to trace the owner have been made then it's yours to keep, however, there is a disclaimer that you sign that says should the owner come forward at a later date then you must return said property to them. |

Been on both sides of this.
At school on a field trip found two ten pound notes on the floor at the door of lidl. My trip partner and I skipped the rest of the days work and went and got burgers. That was then, but I'd never do that now, it could have been a poor old lady's pension or something.
Christmas before last picked up my brother and went Christmas shopping, he bought me a Christmas sausage roll for driving. When I threw the paper away I binned £30 from my picket too. Damn. |

Yes quite true perhaps not so much with the lottery winnings But who knows! the £30 out of the pocket must of been a bitter pill to Swallow indeed its surpriseing what People do lose money wise have found A number of £1 coins on the floor occasional 50p and normal smaller coins over a average week I bet a lot Of money is lost in the uk from People Out boozeing or what ever you,d be Surprised what you found in your playing field modern currency wise I know because I had a metal detector Once.. but I only skimmed the surface just above grass roots level and only on one or two occasions but you would be gob smacked if you knew How much there was out there given permission to check which is really The key to it all. |

Chances are they'll say she returned and keep it for themselves. |
