I have a mini freak when someone compliments me to my face. I laugh and feel embarrassed and try to make a joke about it. Apart from when someone says you have great tits or something like that,I usually just stuff them in his face  |

same here..find it very hard to accept them graciously..make feel awkward and tounge tied.....in real life i mean...on here they carry no weight really..at least in a first message..had comments about my 'stunning' looks when ive had no pic up! |

If people compliment me in life, I'm not sure what to do....
I just look at them awkwardly and say.....ok, thanks!
Also I often wonder am I meant to return a compliment - there is always that awkward moment of silence until they leave! |

If I get a compliment from someone I don't really have many feelings towards, I'm fine. But if I get a compliment from someone I have feelings towards, I'm terrible; I either go bright red or reply with a very sarcastic remark

I don' t take compliments well, deep in a far corner is a tiny shy part about me.

I definitely think that's a British thing though (not exclusively obvs) we are by nature, super polite and bashful. Ofcourse its always a lovely boost when someone gives you a genuine compliment and I am exactly the same, I get embarrassed and don't know how to respond!!
