Maybe they chose the nearestarge town/city?
Maybe they live somewhere but spend a large amount of time somewhere else.
Maybe they want a little added discretion so don't use their exact location?
Maybe there's another reason. If you can see how far away they are then does it matter?
Certainly a true reason is this.

Ours says Liverpool and we are from Liverpool. It's a big place but as our profile says we don't accommodate I don't think I need to be any more specific.....doesn't stop people from messaging me and asking me exact address details though  |

I've put a stafford postcode. I clearly say I'm in Somerset not the Midlands.
I play in chameleons and Angels. The former is 3hrs away the latter 1hr 15. I just don't want local people finding me. |

We live in a very small town and so do most of our family. So we put the next town and we only meet out or do club meets so it doesn't really matter. Plus I work in the community so don't want to be spotted!! (The local gp is on fab swingers)!!!!! |
