It depends on the basis - if they just don't find a particular type attractive or have a fetish for another, then that is one thing. If they think a certain type is the scum of the earth just because of it, then it is another. |

"No, it's no different to preferring blondes to brunettes really, it's just a preference
Good answer but never heard anyone being called racist because of their hair colour lol"
if you have been called racist because you have turned someone down maybe put on your profile what you are looking for so women of nationalities your not looking for won't mail you |

I think racism is misconstrued - i have put up with all kinds of racism through my life both physical and mental. Rightly or wrong it no longer bothers me.
At the end of the day if someone likes me they like regardless of my background.
I just see preference just as that its a individuals choice i rather them be upfront about it than abuse me |

"Do you think personal preference can be deemed as racist? Just a thought."
really interesting question, got me thinking.
for me the answer is yes it is racist, if you take a definition of racism as discriminating (positively or negatively) on the basis of race.
I also think it's perfectly acceptable, and something I do myself.
which leads me to the position that some degree of racism is acceptable in our personal choices.
which is an interesting place for a die hard lefty like me to end up..... |

Do you consider people asking for black only to be racist? |

"Do you think personal preference can be deemed as racist? Just a thought."
I certainly feel there can be a difference between racism and racial preferences, though the latter may often be indicative of lazy racial stereo-typing, just as fancying 'blondes' because they're more 'fun' or men with hair on their head because 'they're more virile' () is.
What I don't understand about racism is why we haven't outgrown it yet?
I can (sort of) understand it from people in their 80s, but haven't we all grown up in a more multicultural world? Shouldn't we know people are just people?
And finally, one that really gets me, can anyone explain why so many ukipers wear fake tan? What's that about?
