I have just been messaged by THE most perfect human being I have ever laid eyes on. But he is 90 miles away. Usually I delete without reading if they are any further than 1hour travel, but damn.... I'm considering it! He's just so beautiful! And fit!
How far would you go For the potential of a perfect meet? Or have you already travelled far and wide? Was it worth it? Or did you cringe into your drink until your 'emergency'phone call came? |

If I wanted to meet someone I really liked and we were chatting and gettin on, then yes I would make the effort, I might not be able to do it very often but I would try and make the meets as memorable as possible |

I have spent most of my life living long distances away from my friends and family, so meeting a friend off here is not any different when time permits.

Don't want to rain on your parade OP but THE most perfect human you've ever laid eyes on?
You've not laid eyes on him. You've read his profile, drooled over his pics, swooned at a complimentary message he's sent you.
Relax, take a deep breath, and return to reality...... |

Congradulations for such a fine catch bumblebee! I don't think 90 miles is far away...what is it - an hour and half drive or more less same time on a coach?
You don't have the obligation to drive/ride over there every day you know. I'd say if for nothing else then at least for adventure sake give this one a go for at least once.
So, thumbs up fo you girl - go and make some unforgettable memories |

Well good luck!
Distance shouldn't be too much of a problem here, we're not somewhere we need to take flights. If he wants you, he'll travel....looks to me like you're worth it xxx
Good luck! |

I don't generally travel to meets, though club het together are fine. I'm not sure that I could tell what a perfect partner would be remotely. When dating, as part of the investment, I'm happy for greater investment of effort etc than for no strings fun and I'm cautious of others putting undue efforts into play meets.
One partner told me he was coming 50 miles or so on his bike. I assumed a motorcycle but was wrong and was dismayed as the weather was atrocious.
I'm fairly flexible but sometimes some rigidity and boundaries are useful, hence why I don't typically meet long distance interesting people until there's some other reason we're closer together.
Sometimes the perfect meet catches you by surprise. Wonderfully complementary needs and the ability for all of us to leave fully satisfied, beyond expectations. It can be a bit like expensive kids presents not satisfying you as a kid as well as something simple that really hits the spot, that may even have cost nothing. |

Distance is only an obstacle if you allow it to be. We're meeting someone 400+ miles away soon and it's no big deal. Why? Because we'll make a long weekend out if it and go and see the sights also. Visiting new places is awesome, a bit of sexy fun while you're there is even better. |

I turn those down over an hour away however I can be persuaded otherwise as it depends on how I have got to know them. In other words, if I have chatted to someone and got to know them, I will make an exception but I don't meet those who send introductory messages as I know it could be a very long time before we meet. I do get pangs of guilt though and think about some I have turned down and wished I hadn't |

Personally speaking, I'd be happy to travel , within reason, a couple of hours or so. You could potentially miss out on meeting someone particularly good and I'd you have great fun and form a "bond" then the rewards outweigh the traveling surely? Maybe some are just spoilt for choice so shop locally and fair enough I guess I quite enjoy the build up of the drive / expectation, I don't F & G , enjoy more prolonged fun, so maybe that's why I don't mind. Have fun peeps |

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
My current lover lives 150 miles away. He is worth every moment on the train or in the car!
Have previously traveled 400+ miles to meet, but it was combined with my other passion - football! |

I live on the continent and still have great friends back in the UK that I catch up when I can, so fair to say I travel a bit for good friends and great people!
Would even do it for a great chat and glass of wine with most of them |

90 miles? Yes, I'd travel 90 miles to meet someone I really like.
I've travelled from Hampshire to Inverness before.
A couple of hundred miles - a 5 hour round trip - I've done several times too.
There has to be a really good reason though. |

"I'd travel a fair distance, if I didn't have commitments that require me to stay within my local town.
Bit gutting to be honest as it's very limiting."
I'd definitely travel to haverford west for you.... Xxx |

I arrange to meet half way, if he's not prepared to do that then he's not worth meeting in my eyes
I take it he can accommodate?
I'd suggest meeting half way and going halves on a hotel first meet then when I had met him if I feel he's worth it and wanted to meet again then I'd travel to him
To me 90 miles is to far for a first meet, what if he don't show or you don't get on? |
