Definitely cheese. I'd be happy having it on a sandwich on its own. Not so much with chives

Chives are puny, and have no real place in the world except as an accompaniment to other stuff (mainly cheese). Cheese has its own identify and is great just on its own. I don't know how this is even a question.

Philidelphia cheese and chives on Carrs Melt cheese crackers is pure heaven.
