Bit of a ball ache for those using desktops!
I'm not a huge fan of the 'who's near' - seems a bit stalkerish and the chances of two people simultaneously hitting it and finding the other attractive/interesting, available at that exact moment, and either able and willing to accomodate? I'd guess pretty slim!!

We use the who's near when we go to London. We've had some lovely messages from people we will meet next time we're down there. Better success than when we had a looking to meet up. We don't use this when we are at home.

Love the "see who's near", especially in the wee hours, when the ladies from florida and texas appear, we're often tempted to drive up to heathrow and jump on a flight, all spur of the moment like |

I've met a couple of people for coffee who were shoting on the 'who's near' radar. It's a good way to see who is:
1. Currently on the site.
2. Currently nearby (be it at home, at work, out shopping, etc). |

Maybe it's just me then!
When it was first introduced I still had my old solo profile and after switching it on a few times when on work trips I soon got bored of random, late night "I see you're near me - fancy some fun?" messages.
I guess after no doubt trying that route with all the locals the chance to try it with someone showing as coming from miles away was an obvious next move.
I still think its stalkerish. A bit like when forum threads pop up saying 'wouldn't it be great if there was a way to identify swingers out in public'.

You don't have to turn it on though - so if you see it as stalkerish then you don't have to use it. |

Yeah if you don't opt in. There is nothing to worry about. If you do then I can't see how you'd think it stalkerish. surely that's more what stealth mode encourages |
