total blank..

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

filled up car, went to pay, looked in my purse NO MONEY.. total panic.

Felt so embarrassed, almost cried, and asked the guy if i could call my grandparents to come and 'bail me out'

He looked confused then told me i had just handed him the money.. that was a shit scary moment for me.

Anyone else just have a total blank moment before?

I am quite forgetful sometimes - did I switch the straighteners/iron off, did I lock the car etc

I regularly think "must remember to take x with me" then promptly forget about 30 seconds later.

Slightly worrying when my grandad has dementia

All day every day

When I was ill in hospital they put a sign around my neck on a chain with my name on it

I still sometimes wake up and forget who I am for maybe ten minutes

I frequently do it. My doctor referred me to a memory clinic, which I attended for several weeks and basically entailed my playing with building bricks, doing puzzles and colouring in.

They decided there was nothing wrong with my memory. But my epilepsy drug dosage might be a bit high. So they lowered those and it's much better now.

I've heard that doing puzzles is supposed to improve your memory. And there are brain training games and stuff

Haha thank god its the weekend

Yeah many times, one of the best was whilst on my phone to my sister, walking round the house looking for my mobile, I even asked her to ring it for me.

Happens to me a lot.

Most recent case, went to the cashpoint at 9am, have had the same pin forever. Put my card in, went to dial in the pin... nothing, completely gone.

Racked my brains, tried panicking, that didn't work either, went home rather bemused and spent the entire day trying to remember, came back to me at 6.40 that evening.

I had a presentation at uni today that was quite important for my course, and I had to present for 15 minutes, including questions and discussion at the end, and a handout for the class to take home (like a mini lecture really).

I was in the library with my USB stick, printing off my handouts, went to return the books I'd been consulting and walked off to my seminar room, with the USB (with the presentation on it!) still in the computer in the library.

I was wearing these silly cuban heel boots (which are, incidentally, fabulous, but not in this context) so I couldn't sprint to go and grab it - that and I wasn't in my sports bra!

All was alright in the end though, thank heavens, and I'm pretty sure I nailed that presentation! :D
