The land of grey peas and bacon |
Of meeting? So I had my daily phone call with my mother and she asked what I was doing at the weekend and so I said I'm meeting a guy for a day out.... So here comes the 20 questions how did you meet him? Online I reply...she says you need to start meeting men the old fashioned way. I do think it was easier back in the day but today everything is on the Internet...
So my question is do you think it's the old fashioned way or the Internet way? |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
What, some guy spreading his cloak over a puddle so my dainty feet stay dry? Or hitting me over the head and dragging me back to his cave for mammoth en croute?
The reason why its called the old fashioned way is because people rarely do that sort of thing anymore. I am happy with online meets. |

T'internet is just another stage I guess....meet on the webs, then do all the datey stuff...
You can meet someone through a friend or some other real world situation, or through the www these days, I don't think there's anything wrong with a mix of both...your closing off avenues to potentially lovely times if you exclude either way as an avenue for meeting. |

I'd love nothing more than the old fashioned way but it's seems to be the internet way. |

I met my ex husband on the internet... It's a shame he decided to use the Internet for his ego whilst I was pregnant..
However, ironically, I now use the Internet for casual sex. Make of that what you will
If you can't beat them. Join them. But be sooooo much better than the rest |

Everyone i've met and where things got a bit serious have been through the old fadhioned way.
I'm just old fashioned. As i'm sure you've realised. I'm shit at doing anything online.

I think there may be an age thing, when your younger your out socialising more. My son has met all his gazillion g/fs this way. Then you don't go out quite as much.
I can never imagine wanting to date anyone again but if I did it would be in the real world and just happen as I'd not actively be looking if anything happened to me and jay |

you can access a wider range of people online who take your fancy as you can read their likes / dislikes and see if your compatible - this you can't do at a bar!
People are also more confident online, because you don't have to face public rejection etc.
The beauty of the Internet way is that you can chat online, then phone and then meet.
There are of course the disadvantages, but atleast it's easier to get to know someone first. |

Depends what your 'old fashioned way' was. I can't stand 'dating' - I always used to start a relationship with someone I knew in whatever social grouping I was in - bunch 'o hippies, college, large Mayfair ad agency etc. If I am going to have to meet strangers, I like to use the internet for the groundwork rather than have to do all that in person, it's a numbers game! |
