If say most famous probably Elvis. Although he's solo. Band wise it's got to be the Stones or the Beatles.

Certainly wouldn t mind hanging with Elvis, just to see how he ticked.

Think it has to be The Beatles.

About 17 years ago I hiked though a rain forest in Mexico and came across a little community. Some kids, no older than ten were playing football and singing Beatles songs. They couldn't converse in English at all.

I remember having this exact discussion with my pals then. We decided that if non-English speaking ten-year olds in the middle of the jungle had heard of them, then you don't get more famous than that!

The Beatles, not just for the music they made and ultimately inspired, but for what they did for music production as a whole. Pioneers, I know there are a lot of Beatles basher's here (ahem) But they were the greatest.

I'd begrudgingly agree.....they did open a lot of doors for those that followed...hell, even made some new doors of their own...and respect due for that.

I just haven't found a song by them I like yet is all

For the most famous it will alwars come down to the same candidates such as the Beatles or the Stones, so I won't choose those to spend time with!!

So if I had to choose someone to spend time with it would be Kurt Cobain he was a genius for his music just why was he so troubled that he had to kill himself!!

one thing's for sure - whoever it is, they're Brits!

Got to be the Beatles tbh, if not them then the Stones. Elvis was probably the biggest global star in music but the question did say BAND... x

Not even Strawberry Fields? Such a chilling, mystical thought provoking song which sends me into a trance every time I hear it.

Lennon WAS a flawed genius, and those 4 together WERE music.

Britain and the States have always ran the global music industry, that will never change.

If we're talking influence - and including influence on and by band members after they left and moved on to other projects - then you could make a case for both John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Yardbirds. Both hugely important, historically, but little-known these days

"I am sure everyone has heard of elastic lol"

Elastica was an English alternative rock band that played punk rock, post-punk and new wave-influenced music. They were best known for their 1995 album Elastica, which produced singles that charted in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Don,t Forget glenn miller or was he american the hollies, all I need is the air that I breathe, yes the beatles, for me Some songs better than others Its the better songs that help to make them great and with people to Inspire them like chuck berry, Eddie Cochran, buddy holly, and being good Musicians themselves its a no lose Situation the beatles pulled it off better than any one group that is.

Their music is global we all know at least one song

But which of their songs would you classify as great?

I picked U2 as they have been my favourites from an early age but their music embraces religion, philosophy, politics, humanity, war, peace and so much more. First band on the cover of Time, Bono up for the Nobel Prize, campaigns to end poverty, famine, AIDS etc etc

To those who admire the band, THAT is great!
