The book was not that good. Rather tame. I know some of my friends think the same. Just took parts of other books put them together and made a lot of cash out of it am sure there are others on here that could write a better book.

Before the wolves come to slaughter you for putting up yet another 50 shades thread.

General consensus is...if you love the book, you'll love the film, if you hate the books, you get the picture........

I found the film exciting and horny but finished too soon. My bestie encouraged me to not shout out rude stuff while in the cinema which was funny.

According to ratings the film is no where near as good as the books. I guess you will have to make your own mind up x

Just around the corner

Based on reviews, you'd be better going to see The Duke of Burgundy instead.

Not read the book but saw the movie at the weekend. Found it to be very corny and at times boring but appriciated some of the humour. To me it's just another average, not bad, not great movie.

My friend who I went with explained that there is a lot of inner dialogue from Anastasia that was meaningful in the book but was completely left out of the movie. Hard to translate that guess

Also really can't understand why people are so up in arms about it, did any of those people see Nymphomaniac?

Edinburgh

Read the Anne Rice Beauty series... they were beautifully written and lacked in the repetitive lip biting/touseled hair keep him found in the 50 shades books.

However have a lovely time all the same.

I totally agree! One book and the housewives become interested in a topic that was judged as wrong by the sheep of the human race! Fetlife fiction is much better and generally written well!

As ive posted on another thread we have seen the film and enjoyed it for what it was , seen better films and seen a damn site worse , my sister in law came back thoroughly disappointed ,,,, she thought there was gonna be a whole lotta sex in it ,,,,, close up stuff , told her to get real and if that is what you want to see then get a porno film out ,,,,, the main characters are well known folk , they aint gonna do much more than they did to be fair.

No doubt if your into fetish /bdsm in a big way then you are going to find it way to tame but for folk like us who like to play around the fringe then it was great

I read the books and was disappointed (perhaps I prefer a more eloquent writing style) watched the film last night, equally disappointed.

Thought the book was terrible, can't be arsed seeing the film.

My niece lent me a different series of books that were much better.

Can't remember the author, so not much good really... X

The film was alrite, they cut loads of stuff out and ended it wen she walks out which in the book happens about half way through. He's never naked, blink and u miss a small amount of his cock. She was hairy and in the book she is suppose 2 shave

Loved the film for what it was. Spent a very odd two hours feeling uncomfortably aroused next to a group of Oriental dudes next to us in the cinema. The Christian character is hot as fook and could not wait to go home and shag the shit out of something!

I really liked the story behind the books, though they were poorly executed.
