no matter

Has anyone invested in a dash cam here I bought a Transcend drive pro last year. The picture is really clear.

What do you think of them. Anyone found it useful to record your journeys. I have been watching some fair old knocks on You Tube . Bought my son a helmet /bike cam this week I hope he will find it useful for training with also.

very good, use it. they are great when there are disputes and people drive differently when they see you have a dash cam, also those naughty bikers can see what you are doing

Brighton - even Hove!

I used an iPad fastened to the passenger seat headrest looking forward a a passenger eye view for a presentation I did called 'a day in the life' for work but my journey to work was uneventful and boring at normal speed but much more fun speeded up.

Has anyone mounted them in the rear window and used them to get tailgater's prosecuted?

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

By *ulfilthmentMan  over a year ago

Just around the corner

I'm not sure that tailgating per se is 'illegal', just foolish and hazardous to all concerned.

Most people I know who have cams use them to update 'amusing' footage of everyday crazy driving.

I have one through work thats forward and backward facing and its paid for itself already when one guy cut across diagonal lines to enter the motorway clipping my car. He denied it but the evidence was there and it was put down as his fault so no noclaims lost.

Money well spent as car excess is often more than £250

Friend of mine moved to the states and has one....he puts up any videos of interest he gets onto Youtube and I quite like watching them...never seen him for years and as silly as it sounds it feels like I'm taking a little drive with him now and again

they are being used more and more on hire vans and in wagons as aids with your insurance if you ever need to claim also covers your back as well

I drove a van for a living for two years and always had two cams running; one on the dash and one in the back bumper. That came in handy when a suit in a BMW rammed into the back of my "just out of the showroom" Mercedes Vito.

Also damn useful for evidence gathering against idiotic, ignorant chavs in souped up hatchbacks who think they are "it". Got a few of them a few points on their licences too

Forgot to say on my post we got cheaper insurance for having the dash cams well worth the outlay

Titz Towers, North Notts

I wished I'd had one this morning when I had an encounter with a chap who believed a light changing to red meant he had to put his foot down, rather than stop.

This is one of the reasons couples don't go dogging so much these days! Someone we knew ended up on a very well known porn site without their knowledge and they weren't happy!

It's on my list. Had a few close calls recently from very bad drivers. Anyone got further recommendations about best models for the price point? Ideally would want one that has front and rear facing, with auto save on impact.

Think its more horses for courses.....so many on the market.

As said I prefer the Sony action cams (£150), features (GPs over lay, controlled by smartphone etc...) but downside is like mine you news one front and one rear (discreet installs - easily taken in and out)

I wouldnt know a Dogging spot even if it jumped up and bit me..

The Transcend has a good write up. Price varies on Amazon about 80 pounds right now.I thought this worthwhile.

Not see front and rear facing cameras.

Clacton on Sea

I picked up one in B & M's for pics £19.95, the 32 gb mini sd card from mymemory.com for pics £12.95.

Films in 720p MOV files, power after charge lasts 120 mins but in car you plug in the power lead, when you want to copy something quick stick card in computer and edit through progs like Freemake.

you can actually purchase drones, there kind of like helicopters and easier to fly, my mate has one, complete with auto landing if it goes out of range or if the battery gets low. sweet videos too.
