Speaking to a friend the subject matter soon moved to sex and swinging...the question dicussed...'are swingers desperate for sex?'
Perhaps a difficult question to answer....but does make you think...what is it that make swingers swing....me thinks its the thrill of meeting new folk, coz we social animals...sometimes the sex is a bonus

The thrill of first sex with a new playmate is a driving factor and it's even more of a thrill if one's partner is actively encouraging it. That's how we feel about it. Desperation? No. We could live without other playmates as we still have each other, but we don't have to, do we.  |

I wouldnt say it was desperation. Take a look at the avatars, and how unbelievably sexy they are, do the lovely ladies really look desperate, i think not.
for me its the thrill of doing something very naughty, socially frowned upon but secretly everyone fantasises about what its like with a new partner. not at all.... I think most swingers are actually far more picky about who they decide to play with..... because they actually know what they want out of this and don't put with "2nd" so to speak....

What annoys me the most is when guys come onto swinging forums and say things like, I love shagging, anything considered and genuinely believe that the women will be falling over themselves to message him and beg for sexual favours off him. I think swingers are very picky in relation to whom they have sex with. If anyone messaged me with a very filthy first message, something like, hey baby, loving your pics, when can I shove my hard cock up your c**t, I would delete and then block if they messaged me again. He might be the most brilliant talented man in the world in the sack but im not interested because he's course and vulgar. Yeah that may sound odd coming from a woman whose on a swinging site but I really am looking more for someone who is respectful of women and who has a great sense of humour and is up for fun, not just sex but having a laugh and giggle and not taking it all tooo seriously. |

No we don't think that the majority of people on here are desperate. Most people esp couples are on here to add an extra something to an already amazing sex life. We could stop swinging tomorrow and be content just fucking each other, but swinging gives us an extra buzz, fucking different people, lets us live fantasies and most of all we have made some really good friends. So desperate defo not.

no matter how long you are married,or in a relationship.you will always see people you fancy.not necassarily more than wife/partner.but variety is the spice of life.i think swingers are more honest in this respect.swinging will not strenghthen a bad relationship.it can strenghthen a good relationship. |

I dont just shag anyone
When i meet a guy i like to go and have a drink and a chat first to see if theres an attraction
If not i'll happily walk away, i dont just have sex with someone because we have met
But saying that its very rare i meet anyone more than once, dont think ive ever met anyone more than twice, privte meets i mean im not talking people i see on going at clubs etc, i just prefure it that way, theres less chance of any complications if you dont get to close to someone |

Totally agree, although a meet might happen just the once, I don't relate it to a one night stand. My idea of a one night stand is picking someone up who is totally strange to you and just fucking, such things as names, likes/dislikes etc rarely come into it.
I've had a guy come up to me and say "i'm not buying you a drink and I can't be arsed to talk to you, either you're going to take me home for sex or not...not what's it going to be". I was tempted, of course, who wouldn't be...but here, I get to know a bit about a person first, there's an open discussion about what we are looking for and the meets are generally expected to be courteous and respectful. |

I don't think swingers are anymore desperate than the average Joe Bloggs, but instead of sitting at home waiting for something to happen we go out & find it. I've always said that while I'm young enough to be naughty I'll carry on, as these are the memories that will keep me going in my old folks home while I stare at the rose garden. |

I can see how that thought might come about though. Certainly when you see profiles with a list of verifications as long as a bus, it can look "addictive" to someone not involved. |
