Anyone have any allergies that you find are just a complete pain in the arse?
I have a severe nut allergy and can go into anaphylactic shock, so carry an epi pen.
Even the slightest dust from a peanut can be fatal for me, and I have to constantly look at ingredients!

Dogs and cats like when I was a little and asthmatic.
Have to take anti allergy tabs before I go anywhere that has pets. Even if I'm standing by someone that has pets or some one is in the same room and they have the fur on their clothes it sets me off.
I'd love a pet |

Its more an intolerance than an allergy... but right now alcohol is causing issues - not that I was ever a big drinker, but its no fun having to load up on anti-histamines and make sure my inhaler is nearby to have a wee drink, so I've pretty much given up.
Oh and strawberries have the same effect, and dairy if I have too much |

Squid and octopus and that sort of seafood. It's more an intolerance than an allergy but it only started a couple of years ago and now if I eat it I will be violently sick. Which is shit, because I love calamari.
Other than that and Hayfever kicking my ass every summer I get off pretty lightly, nothing scary or life threatening! |

Not for everyone it can't.
And usually most effective in children Not adults. "
True and it is not yet widely available but recent research shows a good success rate. |

Some dogs, bichon frise, (and I think poodles) for example, the kinds that need clipping and don't shed, have human like hair and don't set off most pet allergies.
Not for everyone, but you could visit some and see if its OK for you. At least you'll know if its a possibility. |

That's true! Look for hypo allergenic dogs - some good breeds on there like shih-tzu, Yorkshire terriers and schnauzers |

I'm allergic to ginger. It makes my lips and tongue swell up.
Cats make me sneezy and wheezy unless I take an antihistamine. If I'm around dogs too long my eyes itch. Hayfever.
Nothing life threatening, just inconvenient.

I am allergic to sesame and like you I have to read labels as my pulse races and my palms start to itch, then I get blotches and I can`t breath, feel like my head is going to explode and I have terrible pains going through my body |

Thanks for the tips on the dogs.
I could do with spending some time around these different breeds as I know they can be very expensive. My youngest has allergies like me too. And a pet is for life. I couldn't bare part with it if it set us off. |

Border terriers are also very good for people with allergies. |

My brother has bad allergies, he's no problem with the dog, as she has little to no dander...the cat on the other hand..that's a different story! |

I have a few epi pens dotted around
For bee/wasp stings, clarithromycin (antibiotic) and latex. I also react quite badly to insect bites like mosquitos but don't go into a full blown anaphylaxis attack luckily.

I've sat in peoples houses in winter after taking anti allergy tabs and they have had their windows and doors wide open for me. I react faster to some animals than others. |
