Blame Diamondsmiles, she has my stomach rumbling!
So what's your favourite pie filling*, either sweet or savoury?
For me, very specific D&M pork pie for savoury, rhubarb and strawberry for sweet.

Traditionally you can't beat a good meat and potato pie, but I do have a soft spot for a galloways chunky steak pie!
If we're talking fancy pants pies rather than pie shop pies, then I love a steak and ale pie with short crust pastry  |

Savoury wise I love a fish pie these days. In my veggie decade or so it was all about the mushroom, chestnut and feta pie. I think sweet pie, I go to cherry. Apples are for apple and blackberry crumble (tip - put a layer of yoghurt on the top before the crumble, which must have demerara sugar. It adds a self saucing element but it still needs custard). |
