Not a chance in a hell.

I run a VPN any way for security. But I would never venture into the "dark web" or tor clients. Heard way to many stories

No seriously I've done dozens of demos, if it's not been organised through tor, the old bill or private security are there before you.

When you go through tor it takes them hours to show up

It takes hours to go through Torquay on a bank holiday.

For a real dark net, try the Bradford ring road.

"Darkweb been on the news recently and is under investigation cos it sells drugs. It also sais why would anyone really wanna use it lol."

The dark web doesn't sell anything, it's the sites that sell stuff. The dark web is just the access method. There are legitimate uses for it. Most investigative journalists now use the dark web for correspondence in order to protect their sources. Some people use it on principle as they don't like the idea of being routinely spied on when they're doing nothing illegal.

It's not hard to find via the onion tab. By it's very nature the content outside of people using to communicate is quite murky. Considering you can buy most things of the normal web I would question what would need to be sold in such circumstance.

I'm not sure of the hidden wiki is still running but that will give you a heads up.

"What's the "dark web"?

It's where folk go to buy/discuss illegal stuff; guns, drugs, necrophilia, paedophilia, to name a few.

Central

The Dark web is just more of what we use - capacity and communication channels/ protocols that could be used for pretty much anything. It's not that accessible to people like Google, so you won't get much off it, via web internet searches.

Sure, they may be some stuff that's gone on upon it that's not perhaps standard lifestyle stuff. But this part of the web could be used for fluffy kittens photos and nothing any more sinister. The word 'Dark' may suggest to some that it means evil, but it just relates to how it's less overt than the standard part of the web that most of us use. It's just not indexed and thus so readily accessible for most of us, in the ways that we use the web.

I've bought nothing upon it, nor used it. There's too much going on in the non-dark web to keep me going - in fact, just keeping up with fab messages could occupy the whole of my lifetime, without visiting any other web sites!

Bad stuff can happen anywhere - you live in a rich area but can still have criminals amongst you, doing their thing, without you knowing it, never visiting their homes and learning what they do, because you don't get access.
