"I still maintain that Wales were lucky, had Scotland a bit more , ,experience they would've won"

Yes, when Scotland do manage to get the ball out to the wide backs, they look at least as good as anyone in the 6 Nations, excellent rugby to watch, infact - but they just don't seem to be able to link the forwards to the wingers very well.

Geez, in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half in Paris last weekend, they were breaking the French defensive line for fun - & I can't remember Ireland doing that once yesterday; - they looked more like the AB's!!

Same fixture lay year Wales 51 Scotland 3

No win this year, but the difference in style and confidence is very apparent.

it should not have come down to whether there was time for the restart - they missed their chances on quite a few occasions prior to the last 5 minutes

Lessons learned and something for the coaches to continue working on

He was also committed to taking the ball - not wrapping his arms around the other player to protect him - the other player made the choice to go in to attempt to take the ball in the air. This wasn't about russel tackling the player - or going in with the shoulder - not even close to a situation where there was a hint of russel going in with malice! But watch the replay and you will see that russel had to do something to avert from the almost cerain knee directly in his face. Bloody sure we would all turn away from that.

I have watched the replay more than once

I disagree and think he should have had a red

No point going over it as it is just a difference of opinion

Glad that we won but should have been by a more comfortable margin. Was lucky today, the welsh crowd were fantastic for this game, could have done with them in Cardiff last week, I swear there were more england supporters than Welsh in the stadium!

Because only a red for the Scot was mentioned of course!! What's wrong with multi question marks when there's obvious 'red eye' going on, anyway?

Or should that have been???????????

Newcastle and Gateshead

just following on from the other threads we have had...

italians change 6 for scotland game... casto misses game because a his dog bit him on the nose..no lie!

scotland change 4... finn russell's 2 week ban was upheld

french change 5 for the wales game... pape got a 10 week ban for the assult on heaslip... my favourite "chunkies" at 13 and 15 have also been replaced (basteraud and spedding)

wales replace 4.... the concussed pair of lee and north come back... cuthbert (who i still dont get as a winger) drops to the bench...

england and ireland release their 15's for the game on sunday tomorrow.... mike brown for england misses because of the concussion, heaslip definately out for ireland

Especially keen to see Horne play at 10.

Its a pity Mike Brown will not be playing against Ireland on Sunday.

Really looking forwards to all the games, Ireland England could be a great game.

Just read an article about Ford vs Sexton, I always find it amusing how no 10s are so often the poster boys of international teams, in other opinions do you think that the comparisons with ford and Wilkinson are justified?

Highly debatable as the Italians did not appear to have control of said ball - and I would be fairly sure it had dropped and was not in hand.

Reffing decision gone wrong ?

They didn't quite manage to hang on.

I missed a lot of the first half but to me it looked like Italy were stronger on defence than on attack. Scotland did well driving forward but the defence was always there.

The late yellow cards against Scotland didn't help and the huge push in the last couple of minutes by Italy turned the whole thing around.

Unlucky Scotland

Its their discipline that's cost them so far, 4 yellow cards in 3 games and 38 penalties given, since they've been playing so much in their own half and not gaining territory that's points on the board every time

I think it's how much it matters to our cousins in green that will be the difference. to them, it's birthday, Christmas, new year, World Cup, confirmation, christening and everything else, all wrapped up in 80 minutes.

everything pales in comparison to beating the English, and given their history , it's understandable

They're dominating in terms of possession, so England are having to make more tackles.

Ireland aren't making the most of their chances though. If England didn't keep throwing penalties at them, I don't think they'd be ahead.
