1,400 job cuts announced by Hampshire Police today, Kent Police announced 1,500 Police jobs to go just a few days ago.

Devon and Cornwall Police are expected to cut 20% of all frontline Police Officers.....

You have to wonder if the thieves and scallywags think christmas is coming early this year?

i'm fortunate enough to live in a place that has very visable police presence and nought to zero crime, though when i go to my parents in england, i can go a whole week without seeing one car or patrolman.

Having lived in Hampshire and knowing the levels of violence and under-resourced over-stretched force they ahve in place already...god help them!

Also good news for scamps, rogues, tinkers, knaves and ne'er do wells!

I'll say their cutting. Last time i was arrested they said simply "Mushy, you're a twat." No politeness at all.

Devastated i was.

I would imagine that the majority of cuts would be amongst the support personnel and those near enough retirement. They're increasing the amount of PCSO's round our way - a cheaper option probably.

Approx. 400 serving Police Officers, 90 of which will be down to natural wastage (retirement and illness etc.)
