Anyone watching?
Been astounded by the child who picked their shopping items (sadly she has had leukemia).
And how much food they plan to throw away. The 2 adults and 2 small children, weekly shop £320 ish! |

£327 was their original cost
The couple thought they'd save about £50 pw
The estimated real savings were over £100 per week, through cleverer shopping, less waste and freezing. I just felt they were a bit stupid and out of control, but I'm careful. |

I like watching this
I'm. Disgusted how much people spend and throw away
I think being a decent cook helps
We have 5 people in our house and our weekly shop is less than £100
And we cook fresh, no microwave meals |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
"i do the weekly shop for us and carry it on my back in a rucksack and cycle home ..its amazing how many products become non essential and how much your grocery bill goes down
"
My Mum does that. She says everyone she knows complains that they spend too much shopping because they have a car. I will admit to getting a taxi home sometimes, but my cats need their food and it weighs a ton! |

We spend about £500 a month on food for 5 adults. Thats packed lunches for everyone every day, cooked from scratch evening meal.
I LOVE my freezer soooo much, I bought another one!
Throwing away that much food waste is shocking!! Especially when they spend so much!

My mum's never driven - or she did try to learn but never passed her test. She walks everywhere and her shopping trips are managed downwards, unlike myself where I do use a car. I do admire those who walk and cycle, as I used to cycle everywhere but am now a little lazier.
It amazed me that people shopped as they did in the show. No shopping list/plan, expected to throw a lot of it away, as use by dates were too short (but still bought it!!!), and allowed their 4 year old daughter to control them. I spend very little, saving my money for student essentials, such as long haul holidays. |

Good program, everyone can eat for less, its all about education at the end of the day, we know many will get cheese straws for their kids and other unhealthy breakfast things instead of healthy oats that's cheaper and so on. |

I am unsure how much food costs as I buy whoops from Tesco at 7pm. Bags of salad at 10p, meat down to 10% of original price etc.
I have come home with 10 bags of shopping and spent less than 15 quid.
I spend what I save on Alcohol. Life is great |

I don't know either. I have to buy milk bread and eggs anyway so no point worrying about cost. |

You and me both. I even did it as an A level in the mid-80s. More recently I've been told it's become food technology |
