What scents or noises evoke memories of youth?

Mine would be the scent of vosene and pears soap, utter constants throughout my youth and the noise would be the silence on a summer day when all you can hear is the odd bee, the burr of a mower and the distant hum of an aeroplane

cut grass when it has started to dry out a bit - reminds me of being in primary school and making 'nests' out of all the grass clippings on breaks

Honeysuckle reminds me of my gran, brylcream my grandad. I always smile if I catch a whiff of either.

For some reason pears soap reminds me of being a bairn as well.

I bought Matey bubbles for my son some time ago and that took me right back to Sunday baths with my mum playing the guitar to me! I'm pretty sure I had more than one bath a week but in my head it's always a Sunday!

My son had chicken pox and the smell of the calamine lotion brought back memories!

Bacon fat from my grains cooking on a old range

Sounds... The sound of a vulcan bomber going over my primary school.. Interestingly somebody must have had the same experience as there is a identical visual record of this in the Stone Roses video for Love Spreads

Chocolate sponge with pink custard would take me right back to school dinners.

I don't think I've seen pink custard since I left primary school in 1989!

That was back when cheese was cheaper than meat, not always the case now.
