Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
Just for a short while. It's always lovely to see his statue looking over what he saved.
Pop next door to Kings Cross and have a look at the changes and then have a drink in The Parcel Yard.

Kings Cross is a lovely station now, and if you're a Harry Potter fan then Platform 9 & 3/4 is worth a look. There's a little shop next to it too.
If you're planning to do a show, The Woman in Black is a fantastic production |

"Up in London for the weekend..always do the National Portrait Gallery..John Betjeman fan..thinking of visiting St Pancreas..worth it?"
Walk down the road from st Pancras station to St Pancras Gardens. Old chapel there is beautiful and the cemetery has the tomb of Sir John Sloane. I also love to look at The Hardy Tree. Hidden gem! |

If you like shopping then I think that you will be in a very happy place in St Pancras station. Some very good shops there. |

Loving you people - nice to find a post that isn't just: "single bloke in London wants a shag while the firm is paying for my stay!"
I'd second the KX suggestion. The site looks fabulous after the re-build.
At St Pancras take a wander through the undercroft and follow the gaze of the Betjeman statue up to the arc of the still amazing Barlow trainshed roof, before wandering through the hotel reception in what used to be the carriage road up to the station.

Have a drink in the booking office bar in the hotel, they have kept the old features
The champagne bar is the longest in Europe
The is another pub which is cheaper as well but the booking office is a must see if you are up there |

not sure how the Granary square development behind Kings X has come on of recent, but the old renovated engine sheds are worth seeing. There's also a new exhibition on at the Guildhall which apparently is very worth while exploring.
