boycott on 50 shades...

Wearside Women in Need were in our local paper today calling on everyone to boycott the 50 shades film this weekend, saying its going to increase the number of domestic violence cases and that already the book has been used as a defence in some rape and violence cases.

What is everyone's view on this?

I wonder what the group would have to say if and when some frustrated female reader subsequently commits domestic violence aginst her hubby/partner/children.

Of course, they'd have to first accept that it happens, so no, as you were.

I remember my mum telling that when she went to see The Exocist the cinema was surrounded by religious fanatics telling people not to go in because they may end up being possessed by demons

There are always a few that like to make a drama out of every event

I don't wish to sound derogatory towards Wearside women in need but all I can think abiut is the Geordie fundraising woman from the Catherine Tate show

As a kid, I watched the Woodentops. I now have a regular hard on when I think of sex. The two must be linked. I also think that we should boycott the film just in case.

By the way, if you play most of Black Sabbath's back catalogue backwards, it gives hints to the past 10 winners of the Grand National.

If someone is prone to domestic violence it will come out regardless of what someone's read.

As for using something you've read as defence/evidence in court, I doubt it would come to much one way or another.

If you've abused or violated someone quoting passages from FSOG is not going to get you off in court

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I don't want to see the stupid film anyway. Can I boycott all social media that blathers on about it for the next week?

Domestic violence peaks during major sporting events such as football and rugby world cups or whatever they're called.....ban those too?

I think finding and helping the root of the problem may be better than boycotting the triggers...

Boycott one trigger, another one will take its place as an excuse.

I really don't need to have an excuse not to see it, how about the fact that its drivel of the highest calibre
