Apple's new HQ in the shape of a giant donut is said to be going to cost $5bn.
Mere pips to them of course. |

"I remember when 5 billion bought you something decent.
What I don't understand is, if they're getting 5 billion, does that mean it'll be cheaper to actually go to the match instead?!
Mr ddc" .
What I don't get, is of the next nearest bid is 2 billion... Why bid 5 billion.
I thought super competitive capitalism meant the next big would be 2 billion and 1 |

Or, if anti-monopoly rules mean it has to go to more than one company, why not just bid £2.50?
And maybe 10minutes of talk-time

Sky I don't mind, but now BT have bought Orange, I'm worried I'll be charged more just so some footballer can....
(I really have no idea what they would spend all that money on!)
Already dropped Orange Wednesday to help rake the dosh in

Mr ddc
I don't mean to laugh at you but....... The clubs are out for every £££ the can get there greedy hands on
But there is a campaign going to try and limit away ticket to £20 "
Match tickets may stabilise I doubt they'll be reduced. But sky subscription will undoubtedly rise. So they'll be a stampede to buy dodgy boxes. |

thing is Jim - its footy, but not as we knew it.
think of it as more 'entertainment', like a film, or some such.
Sky films brings you.....
-obsession with mgrs as 'characters'
-transfer sagas
-pitches like carpets
-tackle from behind
-no bad words,ooh
-court cases arising out of verbals
-chumps league where 4 english/german/spanish teams get to play every year.
-all seated, snigger
-clubs handing out plastic flags to the 'fans'.
-foreign owners/managers/players
-change shirt colour for chinese red
-pretend its competitive (well yeah between russian toy + arab PR scheme)
-minimum 50 bucks to go to a game in london
- run fast as f*ck from one end to the other for 90 mins, wondering why it rarely works in europe.
- arsenal celebrating cos they finish fourth
-utd spend 200m
-madrid funded by spanish govt. you know- the one that was bailed out.
apart from all the above, bovril been watered down
