Australia!!!!!!!

they say it is a special one off invite to celebrate 60 years of eurovision... but have also said that if they win they will get to host it the following year....

the irish are going to be pissed... they have been banking on our 12 points for years!

I won't be voting this time after last year's voting debacle. Will be good to see Australia though.

They did indeed contact me to request that I sing a Sandy Shaw song. You may be disappointed as I politely pointed out that my presentation and tastes have since changed a little. I did proffer a naked thrash metal version of Fernando sung into a dildo-shaped mircrophone. It is currently under debate but finding a watershed spot in many countries can be difficult. Nothing to do with my voice sounding like a 50-a-day strangled cat.

What's the odds on Australia winning it? If only so the broadcasters can have a freebie over there next year?

I was thinking on reading this, could anywhere be further away from Europe than Australia?

Then remembered something else I read this week,50% of Australians have Irish ancestry so win win for the Irish

I can see how that'd be a logistical nightmare....short of sticking your I pad or whatever on a mic stand on stage with you and multasking like hell!

Ah well, it would have been very cool...

Nothing wrong with that after all the Eurovision could not be further away from being a song competition.

Could be Men at Work singing, 'Jukebox in Siberia' is close enough to Europe.

not convinced they'll get anywhere to be honest. eurovision is a cultural event and the fact that they haven't developed a culture in over 200 years would mean that even a small pot of yoghurt would probably beat them in this contest

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I think it's bonkers. There are already countries like Isreal but at least they are on this side of the hemisphere.
