I'm sorry but for someone quite obviously very comfortably off to ask that in a public forum, where others will be struggling to survive on benefits is distasteful to say the least.

Why?

It's as valid a question as someone on benefits asking for advice on how to ensure they're getting all they're entitled to!

Jo - get a good accountant. There are many perfectly legal (and morally correct) ways to ensure you only pay what is due - it'll be money well spent.

I don't see why. We are all different in here and she is only asking advice. Some people ask for help with housing benefit enquiries so why shouldn't she ask about tax saving ?

what sort of arbitrary level of income/wealth would you deem appropriate before people ask for advice..?

and do you apply the same criteria across the board, are 'pretty people' not allowed to have an off day perhaps..?

We have been with out accountants for over 90 years now and their business has changed, its left us behind.

Can you keep your existing and employ another one?

Get two opinions then.

By the way did you see my first reply to this thread, can you do what I suggested?

If you are being genuinely serious asking this on here then you really need to change your Accountant. No-one can give you advice without knowing your structure and turnover.

Minimising your tax exposure is the most basic function of your Accountant.

I wouldn't take the advise of people on a swinging forum. You need a qualified accountant who is up to date on tax law. I could say ways that I think you could minimise tax but then i am rusty on tax and can't remember which methods are legal (plus it would be highly unprofessional of me to advise )

Hello Fabio,

"tax avoidance is "barely" legal.."

That is an irrational statement, it is legal, some consider it immoral but that's a point of view. (Which I don't agree with)

I'm also sick and tired of hearing politicians saying that an extra tax on such and such is fair. No it's not, and particularly when it's often a tax on assets acquired with income that has already been taxed.

It's time that the governments and councils concentrated on saving the vast amount of wasted money under their control.

Alec

As someone said Register your business in Gibraltar, we once had accounts in Tenerife but Customs & the IRS done a sweep of all accounts on the island so that stopped us farting in church.

Get a good accountant, start another business which on paper leaks money but in hard cash don't, we had to move our sites to the States when ATVOD introduced stealth taxes for download sites etc.

You also get tax relief when paying amounts to charities
