If you haven't what are your reasons for it?
I haven't had any since October, just can't get my head into wanting to meet anyone. I've put quite a bit of timber on the last few months, feel like I'm in a constant demotivated state, haven't been to the gym, eating lots of crap, cut my pubes with a nail scissors the other day whilst sat on the toilet cos they were getting so long, just can't be arsed at the moment. |

I haven't. It just hasn't happened. Been really busy with work and not had enough time to meet.
It's difficult arranging a meet for me on here anyway but those i usually meet outside of fab have been busy too.
Hope the tide turns for me on fab soon though.
Be nice to meet many off fab. Just doesn't help those that tickle my fancy are quite far or i don't necessarily match their age range.

I fell into a bit of a rut when my friends bf was home on leave. He'd been in afghan since May and came home in November for 2 months. Where I'd normally spend my weekends with her instead I was bored on my own so started eating take aways every weekend, then it got to the point where I was looking forward to a take away, then I'd have pie and chips through the week and eat mars ice creams in the evening amongst other shit. I'm also stressing about my other friends wedding in august that I'm a bridesmaid for, she's booked her hen in Marbella and two people have already pulled out and basically me and my other friend have been told we HAVE to go. It's costing £512 for the holiday cos she booked it from fri-true and I'll need spending money and will have to buy things to go so I'm looking at a grand for that, plus it will be the longest I've ever been away from my 5 year old. Plus she wants a uk hen as well where we've all got to dress up which involves more money, and she wants us all to buy these certain bras which are £38 and pay for our own nails! I also was hoping I'd have found myself a bf by the time this wedding came around.

Oh god it's seriously stressing me out and I'm not even the one getting married. There's 5 of us adult bridesmaids with two flower girls, my daughter and my friends (who is maid of honour) her daughter as well.
The bride "wants us all to look the same" trying to explain to her that not all our hairs will do the certain up do that she wants and even if our make up is done exactly the same we'll look different because we've got different eye shapes. 2 of us are quite olive skimmed with dark hair, 2 of them are very fair and blonde and the other one is black so none of us are gonna "all look the same!" My friend (the bride) doesn't have children and both her and her fiancé work full time and live together. I live alone with my daughter and in my head I just can't justify wasting a grand on a hen party when I've never even taken my daughter abroad and she would love to go on an aeroplane.
Feel like I can basically write this whole year off because from now till the end of august it's all wedding bollox and feel like I'm being pulled in loads of directions and that's without my own everyday loving problems, working, running a home, after school classes. Just feel like I want to tell everyone to get fucked. I don't see nothing wrong with all the bridesmaids just going into the city, having a nice meal or even a sap day wouldn't cost that much. Fucking two hen events like, it's that that's stressing me out cos it's the first thing I think of cos I'll wake up to a whatsapp asking my opinion on favours or flowers or reminding me about fittings or some other bollox. |

I had a shitty time in December when a guy I was sort of dating last year got back from a tour and told me he didn't want to see me again! Think that's what contributed to me eating shit as well, I've got to the point now where I'm happy not messaging anyone I'm used to not messaging anyone. If I tried dating now I'd be adding all the bollox about the messaging and if he doesn't message back or any other bollox, just can't risk it right now. Need to be happy in my head before adding men to the mix.

I reckon you know the only way to deal with this is head on. Tell her everything you've said here, in a calm and nice manner of course. She needs to realise that once she starts making demands on other people the wedding isn't just about her anymore.
Get it sorted then maybe take your daughter on a little holiday, just the two of you because no one else comes close to being as important as she is. Maybe you'll come home less stressed and ready to deal with all the other crap life heaves at you.
For me I've done something, or had something done, today which will help my problem which is arthritis in my spine. I've finally had steroid and anaesthesia injections in my spine. I hope it helps because I really don't want to go through that again anytime soon! |

Told the maid of honour I couldn't justify spending that on a weekend and got absolutely ripped to pieced over it cos others have backed out (because of the price) and me being selfish would mean the remaining girls have to pay more.

Get it sorted then maybe take your daughter on a little holiday, just the two of you because no one else comes close to being as important as she is. Maybe you'll come home less stressed and ready to deal with all the other crap life heaves at you.
For me I've done something, or had something done, today which will help my problem which is arthritis in my spine. I've finally had steroid and anaesthesia injections in my spine. I hope it helps because I really don't want to go through that again anytime soon!"

Go on the UK hen do but flip the 5 day event off. Have a girly weekend with your daughter, facemasks, do each others nails and hair, watch a Disney film etc... you will have better memories than a 5 day hen night and spend a shed load less.
Don't bother with meets off here either for a while unless they are social, most people only want to meet for their own gratification and you sound like you want more than that at this moment in time, you sound very fragile. x |
