...that people you've blocked can read your forum posts?
Seems to be a few who feel that if blocked someone should not be able to see your forum contributions and vice versa!
Seems a bit 'playground' to me - and would make a thread pretty tricky reading if there were multiple posts blank throughout the thread. People block for many reasons, sometimes simply because they don't wish to have private conversations or to have people viewing their pics and verifications (for whatever reason!)
I don't see how not seeing their posts or them seeing yours is an issue, as this bears no impact on how two profiles that have blocked each other use the site.
Am I missing something? Interested in the thoughts of others!

That would make reading threads a nightmare, as there may be chunks of conversation missing out. Would make more sense to leave the post, but remove the name if it was from somebody who blocked you. Either idea sounds pointless to me though. |

It doesn't bother me at all but sometimes you know by reading a thread that certain people have blocked each other because one or both parties just can't stop having little digs at each other, that just seems childish
If you have blocked someone then why even entertain their posts on a forum? just ignore them

I used to post on an unmoderated board on another site. Posts by blocked people did not show up. To see what the blocked accounts were saying about them people used to set up alt accounts. What looks like a lively and heated debate to outsiders was in fact two people arguing and using 20 different alt accounts each to do it. It's a farce |

I block people I don't wish to play with - that doesn't mean I cannot be grown up and appreciate their input to the forum.
There are a few people who I avoid their posts as we just do not see eye-to-eye and there is no point in reading to just feel frustrated.
Missing posts would be very peculiar and make the forum seem bitty and all over the place. |

Its similar on here when people with loads of accounts start agreeing with each other or backing each other up when one is in a heated discussion |

People need to just grow up and act their bloody age.
It's like little girls and boys running around on here. Annoys the fuck out of me sometimes. Especially, when many complain about a particular individual, a particular post or what have you. But, they still chase that person for attention or go around stalking them.
The mind baffles! Or maybe i'm just a simple guy who doesn't like immature bullshit.
(I'm ranting a lot lately aren't i? ) |

No qualms at all. Not all our blocks are because we don't like someone there's a multitude of reasons why, location, never going to meet etc etc. Agreed on many a occasion and enjoyed forum posts from those we've blocked and those that have blocked us, we really don't have an issue with it. |

..its almost funny that they get wound up over stuff in the forums...watching them drop basic snarky little comments in a shite attempt to wind folk up who have blocked them
On the flip side, I and another member have each other blocked and chat fairly normaly on the forums... |

if i am replying in the forum... its to a point, not the person who made it....
if people are that childish... you always have the option to walk on by.... just like in that think we like to call "real life"....

Not really. I find it difficult to give that much of a shit. Most of the people I have blocked, it's just as a tool to stop repeated messages when I'm not interested, rather than because I actively dislike them. |

No, couldn't care less.
I block people for god reasons, for bad reasons or for hardly any reason at all.
I would still like to dialogue in the forums, and who knows, they might be a totally different person if I stumbled upon them in a club.
I'm of the impression some people are slightly more aggressive with their words online than they would ever be in Real Life... |

I don't block people from the forums. They would only be blocked if they asked to meet me and I said no thank you. I wouldn't care a jot if someone I had blocked could see what I wrote or if they conversed with other users in private about me. I have very oily feathers |

I don't care. But then I don't really get into many arguments on the forums and most of the people I've blocked don't post in here anyway.
It is annoying when someone tries to contact me on the forums after I've blocked them and explained why though!! |

From a mods point of view I used to think it would be better if the people blocked from each other couldn't see each others posts , but people would probably just get another account or read when offline to see anyway.
From a personal point of view...if people cant read a thread while avoiding posts they don't want to read then maybe they need to move on from whatever it is that's bothering them about the person.
Anyone can be avoided if you put your mind to it. |

If we block people its because we do not wish to chat with them privately however we do not have an issue with reading or even responding to them on a forum as long as its on topic and not asking why we have blocked them and to be honest to date we have never had this.
What i do find very childish is people who state publicly they block someone because of their forum posts, why do that? In most instances they would never email one another anyway!! |

It troubles me a bit that people on forums look to want you to help them but forget that they have filters preventing you contacting them. Otherwise I hope the forums stay as open as possible. Free speech etc. |

Yes but do they want YOU to help them, or are they asking for advice from the members of the site in general? |

"I havent blocked anyone yet so nothing to worry about"
But what if the person with the definitive answer to life the thread and everything has blocked you
It's a no vote from me, would be quite cpu intensive too, slowing down the forums for all. |

I usually only block if someone is outside of my preferences for a meet or if I'm outside of theirs as it saves us both search/reading time in the future...that doesn't mean that I may not be interested in their forum views so I'm happy with things as they currently stand |
