not a fan of seeing basteraud at 13.... its just wrong....

I can see it defensively if you have a world class 12 there.... but in 6 nations you count that on 1 finger (jamie roberts).... other than that...just have him playing 12 (the normal fat bastard role) and play fofana at 13....

mind you don't get me started on fofana!!!!!

gloating is all part of it when you win, you would have been less sulky and gloating like a good un had you won..

I've actually seen very little gloating from English fans actually, whereas when Wales or Scotland beat us, and Ireland to to a lesser extent, you can practically smell the gloating right across the country.

This could be our easiest e ever grand slam, beat the Welsh in their own back yard, the Irish beating Italy is no shock result, Italy will continue the age old tradition of playing the Scots for the wooden spoon, France, despite having nigel Owen playing for them can't even score a try on home turf, the jocks, despite yet another foreign coach can't win a game.i think we will need a bigger trophy cabinet by the end of this year

People like Brian O'Driscoll were described as world class because they were recognised as the best of their era. Not just because they were good one night, or even season.

I'm an England (and Sale) fan.

Beating Wales is important - because Wales are ALWAYS such a bloody good team - and the passion & knowledge of their fans is fantastic. If Wales lose the Welsh fans generally don't whine, but point out the deficiencies of their own players.

I love the way Wales play the game & even losing to Wales isn't too painful because they are so bloody entertaining!

Having said all that, beating Wales on Friday, then watching Sale destroy Llanelli Scarlets yesterday (to the tune of Swing Low..) has made for a great weekend of rugby!

It won't last, it never does, but for now I'll enjoy the glow!

i love the new scrum rules because it does normally keep the scrums up.... i don't think i seem as many scrums collapse in the european cup as i did in the 6 nations

i dont think the condition of some of the pitches helped... the stade de france pitch and the stadio olympico pitches looked awful...

England played fantastic and it was a great game, no offsides and generally a really good game of rugby ( how it should be )

We ( England ) have only played half of our team and we are on full steam to win, Mike Brown is simply astounding, and we will now deploy the full crew

Ireland - Disappointing and my second fav to win it, however i think there is a lot more to show yet

What annoyed me was all the fecking lights and bullshit , this is the 6 nations not a lightshow

It does seem like there's been an increase in being pulled up for standing up in the scrum though.

fair point... something brian moore said strikes me as well

hookers have forgotten, or just don't know, how to hook.....

so in the scrums it's either just fed not straight... or it just becomes a big shoving contest.....

anyway ireland have brought back in the big guns for the france game.... sexton, o'brien and heaslip are all back in.. as well as rory best and cian healy is on the bench....

if ireland can have everyone fit for the world cup... i think they will be the dark horse...

england unchanged for the italy game

and because it made some people laugh (thanks for the pm's i got) and it right at the end of the last thread....

i'll repeat my rant about "chunkies"

the only thing i am not a fan of is "chunkies" in the back line.......

fat blokes playing 12 i can cope with..... but italy had one playing at 10... and france have them playing at 13 and 15.....

unless you are a 17st maori you are allowed to play wing... but otherwise this is not allowed!!!

I'm getting increasingly frustrated about the use and practise of scrums, the rules need a massive overhaul. Scrums used to be a contest and a way of restarting play, now they're a prelude to a penalty

i can't remember the refs name (it was the saxons vs wolfhounds game) the way he dealt with it was to penalise the 1st crooked feed into the scrum and warn the fly halves every time they do it... penalty

after that they all went in straight... thats when you notice hookers don't hook anymore and it became a shoving contest.....

hookers need to be taught how to "hook".... it was a art

funny enough........

Hookers the won't hook and props that don't prop, when I used to play the scrum was a legitimate restarting process, a way for your pack to deliver possession

Its good that the ref did that but when its a problem internationally it needs more than just a firm hand

But that was a bruiser of a game, - & that French defensive line was pretty damn good, even with Sexton having a good kicking game, - I feel that all is not lost for France just yet, nor for the winner of either Scotland or Wales tomorrow!

wales will win today putting paid to scotlands triple crown hopes , leaving them with the time honoured game against italy next weekend to see who gets the wooden spoon , again ,france wales will be an interesting game but as both teams have lost already then not much in the way of silverware is on offer then its the ireland england playing for the lot, a hard fought game and a win over a not too ambitious ireland will garentee all silverware comes to twickenham because i really cant see scotland winning against us in hq and the same with france while they are playing a very predictable style , grand slam in the pocket , not a bad result at all

wingers only ever look good in first class teams. a good number 8 will show up, even when their team is getting thumped. the coaches must see the quality in their club matches (which, to be honest, I don't follow anymore)

marlon yarde, christian wade... i wish england would relent on the armitage issue (theres is a case where the kids were brought up in france... so playing there makes sense) cause then delon and mike brown are then interchangable... one on the wing, one at full back

"I don't even wanna watch the 6 nations anymore, so shit to lose the first game especially that one!

Have a feeling Wales will finish 5th this year!"

I'm not watching because the current game has degenerated into such a dull, lifeless grind with an almost total absence of skill or flair.

The England Wales match was 27 minutes old before a move developed with more than 3 completed passes.

Agnes now consist of dig ball out of tangle, one pass, three steps forward, fall over, tangle, dig ball out of tangle.....etc...etc...

Interspersed with realising you have made no ground so either manufacture a penalty or kick it to the other team so they can repeat the above steps.

I watched the England Wales game in the pub....all agreed it was total crap...with Wales throwing it away in second half by managing to be more crap than England.

Half of us ended up watching the empty parts of the field.....some of the grass was growing and certainly more entertaining than the dirge that passed as a game.

Both of the catching jumpers got there first & had their eyes on the ball, - if your not getting there in time, you're not allowed to challenge the guy in the air, - much better to check your run then hit him hard the split second that his feet touch the ground.

that's a good feeling. ok, I played back in the days of the big Garry Owen, but watching a little racing snake, trembling under the ball, as I timed my run to hit him as soon as touched it,. sorry, testosterone time....

Newcastle and Gateshead

good game... not happy with the way that last 10 minutes was refereed... if that is a high tackle knock on... the welsh player should have been sin binned and for the last 8 the welsh should have been down to 14 men.....

Agreed

The Welsh have a habit of being able to manage the referee in the closing moments of the game

All that guy had to do was dropgoal the conversion & there was still time to win the game, rather than take more time to kick the ball from under the posts, - that's brainless!!

They didn't even have to take the conversion & still could have won it!!

Why wasn't there any action taken when Hogg was blocked after his kick through?

Scotland should have scored several times when they didn't, that's game management which they will learn.

One of a few reffing issues.

But ultimately Scotland still have work to do on controlling the penalty count.

And also when awarded a penalty - being able to execute and make the most of it (Russels kick - not making touch in the last quarter being one example)

Ha, your predictions are flawed, - my predictions are three goalless draws - because there are no games next weekend!!

In which case, Ireland to beat England the following weekend!!
