BT buys EE for a shitload (£12.5 bn)
Jump to: Newest in thread
Whilst it'll be business as usual, I wonder what will happen to us EE customers?
BT will the 1st to offer "Four play" in it's purest form. As talktalk uses O2 and Virgin uses EE.
Anyhow, The Guardian has an article..... http://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/feb/05/how-bt-purchase-ee-affect-me |

I got a letter about virginmedia switching to talk-talk. Also got an advertisment the same day asking me to switch to talk talk, so not sure what's going on?
Doesn't sound good, when BT were the only provider in this country they were very expensive. |

All I care about is that BT sort out the EE content lock that keeps blocking Fab (even though it's switched off, supposedly). I sometimes can't get rid of it for hours, even if follow all the suggested steps.
Mammoth pain in the arse! |

Ah, cheers Fabio. I do recall reading something about this. I got confused - I tried it with Puffin and still got blocked, so assumed the browser wouldn't make any difference. |

Tried it and it was complete and uttet crap! Took nearly five minutes to load the fab homepage. I didn't even get as far as looking at the forums, I gave up. I tried to use it a handful of times and each time it was the same. Worst app I ever installed on my phone |

Huge investment at the same time they are thinking about breaking the bank to usurp Sky as the main sports TV broadcaster in the country. A ballsy move which will either be _iewed as total madness or genius depending on whether they make it work. I'm betting against it but they might just pull it off. |

I will agree with that one. Been an EE customer now for 2 years and ever since joining them had nothing but issues. How long does it take to fix a bloody fault !!!@ |

Been on orange for 20 years, in that time it has changed hands at least four times. As from this month I am now on EE. Parental lock has come on a few times, I just flip the phone into airplane mode and it cures it.
BT are seriously gunning after SKY, should be interesting
Going to miss orange Wednesday |

Virgin have been trying to persuade them all they need to put their broadband prices up.
Virgin are feeling very threatened by the cheap broadband deals Sky and BT are offering.
It's funny because BT and Sky are have a war over TV services and Virgin, who of course have their own cable network, want broadband to be their leading product. That's going to be difficult, even if they have the fastest service available, if BT and Sky are massively cheaper.
Virgin, at a big comms conference recently told the others that infrastructure costs money but the current broadband market is leading consumers, businesses and the government to expect broadband for free.
I'm not sure how it will all pan out but it's interesting times in comms at the moment. |

There is also a bizarre rule which states that Fabs works fine when you're not in touch with anyone, but Content Lock kicks in when you're lucky enough to be having a horny conversation with a supermodel
I've had way more problems with signal since going to EE too-worse signal than I had twenty years ago in my area. |

As an EE customer, this news is not welcome. I despise BT.
Ever since I was insulted when ringing up to report a problem years ago I have vowed never to be a customer of theirs again.
Looks like I will now have to switch service providers. What a pain in the arse. |

As a Vodafone shareholder this can only be good news. Less competition means less downward pressure on prices which in turn should have a positive impact on VF's share price
Happy days! |

"I'm with EE and in dispute over my son's bill.Their customer service is awful. Very much bully boy tactics." I stay with talk talk Because Thats about all they do and plenty Of misdameanors along the way with talk talk but cheaper than bt, I,m just sorry that plusnet came along a little late for me haveing already joined talk talk Then one of the Issues I have with talk Talk is when Phoneing up customer service or technical dept and trying to converse And understand what is being said We do eventually get there in the end Recently it has got slightly better Communication wise if you have,nt got Much Patience before I,ve found it pays to have some on there as you,ll Get no where otherwise at times so much prefer to do everything on line Than chat on the phone thou sometimes The need is there GULP.. |
