Is it theft if you use it whilst staying at the hotel?
In that case,is it theft if you take home the tea bags,coffee sachets,milk tubs?
Or God forbid,spare toilet rolls |

There's a Friends episode about this. It's fine to take things that are complimentary like soap, toothpaste, tampons, but you can't take salt and pepper shakers or lamps. |

It annoys me when the batteries are removed from the remotes!
The shampoos etc are going to be binned, so they are a provision of your stay, viewed from any reasonable mind. Towels are different.
I'd love some of the really plush mattress padding that some hotels have, but again these would be viewed as hotel property and dragging one out, whilst in high heels, wouldn't get me very far, when tbey chase me.
If you're overseas, remember your liquid limits, as there's a total allowance, as well as individual item size limit. |

How about cutting out the section of carpet from under the bed? It's not like they need that section and a few visits to hotels and I could redo the living room in a nice patchwork effect.

When travelling light they are ideal.
Imagine a couple going to club and having a shower when they get there, or before leaving. No need to carry the usual full size around.
Or taking kids to the pool and want to shampoo after being in the pool.

We are are the same. We always bring our own toiletries as using those small bottles are a pain in the bootocks.
I wouldn't say it was theft though but it's tight as arseholes.

I use my own stuff but take the shampoo & shower gel. They're handy for the kids' PE bags 
As someone else said, would it be theft if you used them while there? You have paid for the room & it is up to the hotel if they include the complimentary bits or not.

Hotels expect you to take them, whether you use them there or not. They also expect the teabags and coffee sachets to vanish too.
I don't think its tight. They are wonderful for short breaks away, whether at home or abroad. They save me having to lug several large bottles around, and the teabag and coffee sachets come in handy when camping. |

Unless you're driving and taking the ferry. I collected loads on a round trip of Europe from various hotels.
Really useful when travelling. I gave a lot to a friend who goes camping. |

When I worked in a popular hotel chain they stopped providing little sachets and instead installed soap like dispensers in the shower of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and a soap dispenser at the sink.
The shower gel was the mint sauce stuff and now and again someone would break the dispenser to take out the shower gel, now that was scabby I thought! |

We are called housekeepers not cleaning ladies sorry such a pet hate of mine and you don't have to steal them from us just ask we are happy to oblige |

 I'm always a bit cheeky and ask for stuff like extra shower gel or bottles of water and they're always really helpful  |
