I'm a delivery driver. And my boss a threatening to stop paying me petrol money that I use to make deliverys. I don't use a company car and use my own.

If he stops paying my petrol to do delivery's I have to put 1/4 of my waged a month to do the work.

Is this illegal or is it okay to do this?

Well I'd then expect him to provide you with a vehicle to use instead.

Sounds like constructive dismissal...he's making it hard for you to work for him hoping you'll leave and save himself trouble. Are you self employed?

No petrol = no delivery, does he pay you for wear & tear on your vehicle?

Demand a company van to do deliveries

As an employer myself, if you are using your own car to do the company's work, then he has to:

A)cover your mileage of up to 45p per mile depending upon your vehicle

B)provide a vehicle allowance and a smaller milage rate of 15p per mile

C)provide a vehicle for you to use including fuel.

The mileage rate not only covers your fuel, but also insurance (which should have business use on it), wear and tear, servicing and MOT's. Should they provide an allowance then that covers the above and the smaller mileage rate for fuel.

Thanks for input everyone. He has put it in writing. I would prefer to use a company car Because since I've been employed my wing mirror has been smashed and my car has been keyed, and another driver has smashed my wing mirror in but employer refuses to replace anything broken or repair them. I am covered under business insurance threw the company tho.

If I did claim on that I'm unsure if I could as its only 3rd party.

My right wing has been dented too. I would give it up but in this world for someone who hasnt got any qualifications its hard to get a job. Lol.

Should have studied marine biology in college instead of Health and Social care lol!
