Hi Ladies, I am having my tubes removed next week due to complications following the mirena coil. Has anyone had this done please? If so what was your recovery time? when could you drive again? what pain relief did you have? I am trying to avoid morphine because that made me hallucinate and sweat. Thanks x

I have one tube removed due to it rupturing! I was able to get up and around after two weeks but had to be very very careful! Honestly took me about 8 weeks to feel normal again!

In hospital I had to be sedated as morphine doesnt really work on me so it was easier to knock me out!

Outside of hosp i had tramadol and paracetamol which again made me sleep lots so i didnt feel the pain as much.

Recommend making a little barrier down your bed with pillows to stop you turning onto side or front in your sleep!

Hope you have someone to help you up.. First day home and took me 25mins to get out of bed to get to the bathroom!

Believe me after it even keyhole it will be the weirdest sensation and not going to lie fecking painful as you wont be able to move like normal though your body will still attempt too!

Prepare him for the first week or so he is going to be looking after you a lot!

Best of luck and hope it all goes well! X

I had my right fallopian tube removed due to ectopic pregnancy only last October, it knocked me for six I wont lie. I had mine done key hole, like others have said be prepared to not do anything for at least a week, I just could not move hubby done everything for me. I was sent home with just codine and paracetamol which was not enough I had gp out who gave me tramadol, I really struggled to sleep like someone else mentioned I put a barrier of pillows as if I turned at night it was agony. I was driving again after 2 weeks but only short journeys as was painful at times, it sounds like you have time to process to you what's happening but I was emergency and it took me few weeks/months to get mentally over what happened. Which you all the best hun and hope you have a speedy recovery. Xxxx

I had mine removed to get rid of the essure in them, I was pretty rough the first few days after the op but slowly got back to doing things, was driving after a week and just listening to my body. The morphine and the ablation took a good 2 weeks to get out of my system. I will say I overdid it a bit as it was just before Christmas, but a few days of rest did wonders. Give yourself the time.
