To be fair, she died a long time ago now. She never regained conciousness after being brought back by the EMTs.

Sad news indeed

In your opinion. I'm not a big fan of either of them but hundreds of people are. Who are you to decide that the world would be a better place without them?

And for the record, wishing death on someone in a condolence thread for another is crass and inappropriate.

It's tragic, I feel sorry for the rest of the family.

Two losses, too early, too similar.

I feel a different form of sympathy for anyone who wishes another human being dead.

Time and place? Why? Because everyone is so upset that someone they never met or heard of until they fell into a coma, and they were only famous because they died in similar circumstances to there mother, has died? Please...nobody here really gives a shit, and to say you do is a lie. None of the family are reading this, nobody here knew them personally. I have a drug addled brother who had been in and out of hospital by his own drug induced health fuck ups. I have no sympathy for him. As he had wasted the last thirty years of his life lied cheated and stolen from my parents, and drove my father into an early grave. So I have even less sympathy for these people. Spare me the fucking tears. I really don't give a shit.

I think these kind of stories strike a chord with people because they're relatable. For all their fame, wealth, glamour - they're just as susceptible as the rest of us. It's a human story, I'd be just as interested if it was about a neighbour/relative or anyone else. Yes, these things are happening to someone, somewhere all the time, we just don't necessarily hear about it.

So when it happens to someone in the public eye - it's a reminder. And just as sad.

K, protection of other people's feelings

You know what, I actually agreed with you, we a living in a celeb obsessed culture which pedestals and idolises people with no or limited contribution other than inherited wealth alone, whilst at the same time the medical scientists that save our lives are often social outcasts and ignored

People do show compassion to others they have never met or have any actual connection too and in same cases media can tell them what to think,

But there is no credit or justification in being unable to see people sharing compassion towards a recently passed person and their bereaved family without being able leave them to it and not force your opinion on them.

Live and let live, now ffs give it up and move to the walking at work thread or something

Mr p , there's 2 separate things here.

- mawkish rip comments from ppl who never met the deceased is a bit pointless. Look at me, I care.

- wishing complete strangers a prompt death. Apologise, accept you were out of order and save your rep.

Currently you are defending the indefensible. Never a good look

Crete or LANCASTER

It goes without saying, almost, that I neither knew Whitney Houston or her daughter.

But I loved Whitney's voice and her music, she was an incredibly beautiful Woman, and through her music a part of my life.

What a tragic story.

Let it be a lesson to those messing with drugs, or thinking about it.

The consequences like a ripple on a pond affect those around you too.

"Mr p , there's 2 separate things here.

- mawkish rip comments from ppl who never met the deceased is a bit pointless. Look at me, I care.

- wishing complete strangers a prompt death. Apologise, accept you were out of order and save your rep.

Currently you are defending the indefensible. Never a good look "

I make no apologies for wanting the world to be a better place.

Yes, he has his conscience to deal with.

If he has one.

Oh No!

Now it's starting to sound like the Lyrics of a Michael Jackson song.

I agree. A tragic loss of a great voice. But let's be clear, nobody forced that shit up her nose down her throat or through her veins. I've lived with a junkie brother since I was in my teens. He's been doing all sorts of drugs for the last 30 years or so. The last job he had (twenty years ago) he was sacked on the first day for sniffing solvents. He had thrown away every chance given to him. Last year he was a couple of days from death if he hadn't been found. My sympathy ran out many years ago. His death would make my mums life easier, and she wouldn't be constantly worrying about him. He's 47 and never grew up, neither did any of his mated from the heroin scarred village that they all still inhabit. There is only so much milk of human kindness. I'm buggered if I'm paying the milkman for more.
