It's even worse in America, the program starts, with opening credits, then after about 3 minutes they have an ad break after which the opening credits are still rolling

This is why we sky+ everything then watch it later on so we can skip the adverts.

tv commercials were part of the reason i got rid of my telly ..that and all the crap repeats/programs
