As expected

Over my time on Fab I've met a lot of forumites and, of course, they have met me!
The most frequent comment is that I'm not what they expected. 
Generally that is followed up by "well I don't know what I expected, just not this" which either means they gave it no thought or that I come across on the forums very differently to in real life! 
What has your experience of this been?
BTW I'm not asking for opinions of other forumites, just opinions of how you are seen by what you write and how people differ when they meet you in person. |

Odd one this...I have had comments such as'You look younger than I expected' to ' I liked you in your sexy underwear photos' and ' You are not my type' so I guess we all make judgements and put our expectations on the person we are about to meet to some extent. For my part, I have tried not to prejudge people but it is tricky. Like reading a novel and then seeing the movie. |

I tend to get 'you're not as scary in real life' ........alot lol. (oh little do they know! The bodies under my patio said otherwise) and you 'arent up your own arse at all' No wait they do say that lol. |

Interesting to say the least.
On a separate note..
I met a couple on here that I thought would be an instant clash..
I thought, no way..
...met them and they were actually really nice and a really good laugh.
There are some that have been exactly as I expected ...others have not.
Bottom line is, you can't judge people on Forum Post's alone.
But there are also underlying traits that just can't be hidden.
I read lots on here and I just find it fascinating what people say.

Okay well I had joined back in 2011 and I was single at the time.
I explained how much I weighed in my profile and actually had pictures of my body so People could get an idea.
What pissed me off was a couple of the guys that I met for a social first said to me "you're bigger than I thought" what in the actual fuck?
I Mean clearly stating my weight and having a few body pictures, naked I might add...wasn't good enough!
So when I do eventually get back into meeting people I will probably get the same response again.

Have only met TinaTitz and Cali (knew Cali before I started posting on the forums) from the forums.
All others we've met as a result of fab say we're just as expected - sassy, cheeky funny, naughty and good natured

Usually comments relate to physical comments, rare I get much about how I come across on the forums. Probably because I never say much interesting on here  |

In some ways I'm the same and in some ways I'm not what they expected is usually what's said, though some say I'm exactly what they expected.
A lot say I look better in person than in my photos (though I know that's not what you were asking).
People tend to find me less argumentative in person. I'd say that I'm not, but that many people won't say in person the things they feel it acceptable to say on here, at least not in the same way. My principles are the same but it shows less.
There's less scope for misunderstandings when meeting in person too as there are more methods of communication open. |

I've never been told anything, I guess I don't post enough or say anything of interest for people to build an image
I do think that the internet is a strange place to try a glean a picture of a person though, it can be very easy to recognise the best and worst of a persons character and not the rounded whole. All it takes is a bad day and an angry rant and a person seems like a ill tempered defeatist whereas in reality they're a warm humourous person |

personality wise i think the general feedback is that im the same.. ive attended 3 group socials and have tended to be one of the louder characters/making jokes etc.
looks wise i know im a dissapointment,, im fat and have tripple chin, im short..

I rarely meet people from the forum but those I do meet I normally chat to extensively beforehand so there aren't usually any surprises.....I've never had anyone say that I'm different to how they thought I'd be. |
