I'm a recent convert to Fab but looking back across the forums, complaints about timewasters (and timewaisters) have been a recurring theme almost from day 1 - and nothing has changed (and probably never will). |

Hi
We had the let downs etc etc in the first few weeks but we stuck at it and in the end we have met a load of great people.
You will get this on every swingers sites so plug away and be happy

can i ask you a question.... just an honest one because I reckon I can count the number of timewasters I've had on one hand in the past 5 yrs ish...
how do you go about selecting the people you play with?
because if I am in any doubt, I talk to people till I am happy.... or if there is something going off in my head that says "somethings not right here"... i don't meet.. or will keep getting to know those people till it goes away.......
mind you I meet most of my contacts at socials and other events so i know they are reliable and get to see if we are compatible to take it further....... |

just as an example... i see you put down you are in the north east..... there was a lovely social in newcastle last night.....why not try one.....
in the end if you are experiencing so many "timewasters" maybe it is time to change up the way you meet potential playmates...... |

We've had a few meets where one or other of us hasn't been partically "fullfilled" so was it a waste of time?
Or do you not have to turn up to waste someones time?  |

What's a time-waster? 
Doubt we've ever had the opportunity to encounter time-wasters, we've had people cancel on us, however, we've never questioned the reason they've given for cancelling, we accept that sometimes an unavoidable situation takes priority. |

We all get time wasters, i dont get many no shows but i get loads of guy who cancel last min and im sure they cant all be genuine resons
Thing is its all part of swinging, my good meets far out weigh the bad ones when that changes i'll stop |

They are on a meet, they managed to get a replacement babysitter after the last one let them down at the last minute and didn't want someone coming on the forums calling them a timewaster! 
Seriously though, one person's "timewaster" could be another person's change of mind, family emergency, babysitter let down, etc, etc. etc!
There is more to life than a swinging site and it's usually more important too. |

I know one site where you never get any complaints about timewasters on the forums.... coz none of the feckers arrange meets with people they don't know... thus barely having any meets between socials.
People on here complain too easily about timewasters... mostly they don't mean timewasters they mean they keep getting knock-backs or people disappear after chatting for a while and never bother getting back to arrange anything.... these are not timewasters.
I have seen people who have been on the site less than a week and they have messages on their profile saysing "sick of timewasters"... just how many timewasters can you encounter in a week? When you ask them this question they usually reply "I've seen it on lots of other profiles"
A timewaster is someone who although they arrange to meet, has no intention of turning up.
People changing their mind, cancelling, not arranging anything in the first place and not replying when you send a message are NOT timewasters.
If you seem to be getting more than your fair share of people arrnging to meet and then not turning up.... have a look at your selection process first.

Everyone gets one from time to time, no matter how careful you are.
I think I have had 3 in the last 12 months.
I do appreciate it is a pisser when it happens.... but it's the people that go on as if timewasters have taken over the majority holding of this site.... get's on my tits it does. |

No, we don't all get time wasters, then my definition could be different to yours.
I've had people cancel, all with notice. I've been in contact with people and it's fizzled out: I don't class that as time wasting.
I always meet socially first, and on occasion it hasn't led to a play meet: I don't class that as time wasting either.
For me, time wasting would be arranging a time and place to play and the other party doesn't turn up. That has never happened! |

i honestly think there a re quite afew people who fantasise about meeting then just cant do it , ive encountered quite a few seemingly polite sensible intelligent guys who i would like to meet , who do everything right in the run up to a meet, and then on the day just dont turn up , and make the usual pretty lame excuse like traffic or car delays or of course the sick mother or father .... im starting to be much more choosy about who i agree to meet .in fact i very rarely meet anyone new unless they are very very local to me . |

Timewaster come in many forms to many people, to us it starts with people who mail us/wink us/send friends invites when they are outside our meet criteria or we are outside thiers, not as bad as those who contact us to arrange a meet then disapear and never speak to us again and certainly not as bad as those who arrange to meet us then dont turn up.
None of them bother us, we will not allow ourselves to be put off by these people or even give them mre than a few minutes thought, because there are some lovely people on here who are so very genuine and we do get some wonderfull meets and make some great friends. |
