"Anyone remember the one about 8 years ago that shook the whole of England?"

Yes - it struck around 1:00am.

Strangest sensation ever.

I remember that. Got woken up by the dog barking and thought I was still dreaming as the bed and wardrobe were rocking.

Spent ages looking for the cat after that and found her 30mins later hiding under the kitchen cupboards.

Aww poor cat.

I'm thankful we don't live in an earthquake-prone country.

They're horrible things, so disorientating

Cheers for that ha ha - I was blissfully unaware in the (supposed) knowledge I was in a shake-free zone.

On high alert now for the next one

you're welcome!!! you don't tend to feel anything less than a 2 anyway normally...

you would normally only feel it is if was large (like last nights) or shallow (which is what it was in winchester the week before......

its when you go to san francisco and freak out when the locals are just pissing themselves laughing at you!!!

p.s last 50 days.... 18 uk earthquakes....

no way of knowing...the beauty of an earthquake!... however what you describe last year sounds like aftershocks to the main quake which should be a lot less powerful.....
