Why are there so many people on here who can't form proper sentences with punctuation in the correct places?
A lot of the spelling is absolutely atrocious and demeans our beautiful language too......

Cause it makes it easier for you to le out the ones you won't meet, after all who would meet someone who can't write like Shakespeare. It also makes it easy for the ones who can't be doing with the spelling police as well |

While I sort of agree with the sentiment, you might want to proof-read your profile.... |

Cheers, here's my reply, copy & pasted from that thread
When posting in the forums I tend to put me & ma instead of my, and yer instead of your because that's how I pronounce those particular words. In a message or in a professional capacity I tend to spell things correctly.
As long as I can understand the gist of what someone is trying to say, it matters little to me |

We shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Just because some people have trouble writing, doesn't make them less of a person.
I, at times, lack good spelling, grammar and sentence construction, but it doesn't make me uneducated! I have dyslexia and I have a BA - now doing a Masters in Archaeology. |

Next time we are at a club actually meeting people face to face, I will get out a pen n paper and make jolly well sure they have grasped the English Language to the optimum levels .Which will no doubt tell me just how good a person they really are... Not forgetting their education levels and if they can spell and express themselves fully ...
Or I could just chat, smile, suck cock/ tease pussy and Fuck?! |

You can tell the difference in writing between someone who has dyslexia and someone who just puts no effort in or uses text speak all the time.
I make no apologies about the fact I do totally judge people who txt lyk dis.
However I can appreciate the irony that most of the people criticising others on this thread have cocked up at least part of their posts |

On the other side of the coin, those very, very few people who can use the English language to it's full extent and without error, can be very hard to read and understand.
Not only the written word, but spoken too. A few weeks back, two professors were on the Jeremy Vine show. Who himself is a highly educated man. Two guests gave their spiel, no doubt very accurate in use of the language.
Jeremy Vine said to one of them, "i'm sorry, i didn't understand what you just said."

Going back to your actual question op; I think the reason lies with the self selected sample that is the population of Fabs. They are not representative of the uk population as a whole are they now? The vast majority of men in here are not swingers at all, they are looking for an easy shag. Take them out of the equation and I think you might find the remaining couples and single women are not as bad as you think |

Ignoring the fact that you think only couples and single women are real swingers, are you now insinuating that it's only single guys that are guilty of using text speak and writing incoherent sentences |

I have to be honest I think really poor spelling shows lack of intelligence, now I don't expect messages to be word and grammar perfect because I know mine are not 100% but some messages as so hard to read, what with all this text chat that's about today, I really don't understand any of it and find reading such mail a chore |

What I actually said was the vast majority of single men on this site are not swingers (no mention of the word real here at all ) they just want a shag. Now this is my own experience which is the only experience I can draw from I'm afraid. Your experience may be different and you have every right to voice your opinion bases on that experience, as of course, have I |

That wasn't my opinion I was just quoting what you said that maybe made him think you only saw single woman and couples as swingers
I agree a lot guys just come on here for easy sex but if I'm honest I think a hell of a lot to couples and women do too, its a sex site after all and not everyone wants to make friends and no all of those people are men |

I do not like text speak. I don't like being called "hon/hun" or "sexy" in a message. I don't like comma's in place of apostrophe's. I also don't care if my grammar is a bit messed up. I couldn't give a stuff if I can't spell a word. However, what I really hate is when my phone decides it knows better than me and changes something without my agreement that shizz is not okay! |

The other poster didn't quote what I said, they put in that extra word: "real". I have no experience of women's motives for being on here, I can only base my opinions on the grammar etc in the messages I receive. They are almost exclusively from single men. 99% of them aren't even intelligible, mainly consisting of "suk my dik" or "ur fit". Hence my opinion that most single men here are looking for an easy shag and sadly they struggle to articulate that in meaningful way

The point of language is to communicate ideas and pass on knowledge. If you can understand the point made by even a poorly spelt or punctuated message it is working as it should. Let's not mock people trying to communicate, it is the ones who do not communicate with others we should question. |

Bad grammar and spelling on here really winds me up! Sure it's not the be all and end all but I do find it a little off putting when I read a message that looks like it was written by an eight year old. Some are almost illegible. To me it just makes you look a little dumb. |

It depends on quite how bad it is. If it comes across as barely literate then it's off - putting. If that makes me a snob, so be it. The exact amount of fucks I give about it you could count on one fist. |
