What to Cook?!

Ok, so we have a couple coming over for a second meet. The plan is early dinner at ours, followed by a few drinks and we all know what else. My quandary is what to cook?!! They have said they're not fussy eaters, and suggested something with a quick turnaround so we can all enjoy dessert ...but I'm feeling utterly uninspired and any suggestions would be appreciated

What about a nice salad, some cold meats and cheese, new potatoes and fresh bread. Quick, easy, tasty and not too spicy etc.

Prawn n Pasta.

Olive oil in the pan with some finely chopped onions. Peel a courgette and add the peelings (ribbons), some tomate puree, garlic and cherry tomatoes.

Add some Prawns n basil. Boil the spagetti and using tongs, transfer it to the prawns etc just before its fully cooked.

Look online for the recipe written down better, its easy, looks amazing, tastes great, and wont cost the earth to make.

Personally;

I would have lasagne served with a fresh crisp salad and sweet potato wedges.

Then sometime light and fresh for desert like a fruity sorbet.

Mint margaritas to drink after incase you're afraid of the garlic =P

Pasta.

Idk what to sauce to have with it though. Chickens, spinach and sweetcorn's pretty nice.

Beans on toast (parp!)

failing that I'd keep it simple and light. How about salmon fillets wrapped in parma ham and roasted in the oven, served with buttery new potatoes and either salad or a colourful mix of stir-fried veg (eg pak choi, orange pepper, baby sweetcorn and cherry tomato).

Maybe some Haagen Dazs for dessert, eaten off each other of course...

Search online for Jamie's 15 minute recipes, some good ones and normal people like us can do them in about 30 minutes or so...

Depends how energetic you are feeling for desert

I'd go for something light.. Herby roast chicken, rice/potato salad or jackets, and a green salad.. Maybe some sliced fresh crusty bread on the side.

I'd stay away from stodge & anything too flavourful lol
